4. But There's No Mist Here

It looks like a nice little backwater town, but take a couple steps in, and all of a sudden the BombRing you were meant to deliver explodes and sets the entire town ablaze. In the middle of their questioning the king's decision, Cecil notices a little girl crying. When he and Kain find her, she says that since her mother's dragon died, her mother also died. So, in case it wasn't clear by now, your slaying of the Mist Dragon did in this innocent girl's mother. Wow, way to go, you jerk. When the two decide to save the girl, telling her to come with them, she opposes—shock! All of a sudden, you get drawn into a fight with the girl.

Don't worry, though, you don't have to end the entire family bloodline today—there's no possible way of winning this one as she immediately uses a summon to take care of you. In the middle of the battle, you see the entire village, and surrounding area, exploding in a pillar of smoke, rendering Cecil unconscious. Not to worry, he'll soon come to and then you're off again.
