While not necessary, it's certainly suggested that you complete the optional side quests prior to heading back to Mysidia. It'll leave you a new arrangement of powerful summons and, soon, a sword that strikes fear into the heart of evil. But like I said, optional. At this point, fly the airship to Mysidia.

Head into town. Before you can even make your way forward, you're confronted by the Elder and his two companions who want you to join them in the Tower of Worship. The Mysidian Legend will scroll across the screen again, reinforcing the fact that Cecil is the chosen one in the legend. The mages will all gather in praise in the tower in hopes to bring the Lunar Whale from its slumber. It turns out the Lunar Whale is a galactic ship with the capacity to be able to travel to the moon. Don't just stand there, have a look for yourself.

Once inside the ship, you'll see a glowing crystal. Before you observe it, have a look around. Head to the doorway that's down and you'll find a bunch of weird glowing pods. Step into one and you'll find it's a bed, and you can recover your health by napping in it. Head south in the ship even more and you'll find a giant chocobo. Finally, you won't have to head to a chocobo nest every time you need to find a big chocobo. Go back to the first room. Before hitting the crystal, note that there's a control console directly in front of the crystal. If you push the action button, you'll be able to fly the whale without taking off toward the moon. When you're ready, hit the crystal and blast off to the moon. You're treated to some more state-of-the-art SNES effects, and then...

Wow. You're on the moon. Amazing. Just think, you'll be famous just like Neil Armstrong and those other guys no one's heard of. Because this is a fantasy world, and NASA doesn't exist. Quit forcing your reality on this one. It's rude.

First thing you should notice flying about the moon is that it is very small. You'll float by the same crystal castle and circular cave over and over again. But the elder said that someone was calling out to you from the moon. And what better place to look than the crystal towers you keep seeing. Unfortunately, you can't land right in front of it. Land on the grey rock formation that it's behind and disembark.

Now, you may be asking yourself "How exactly is Cecil and his band of merry men and women not suffocating from lack of oxygen?" Or maybe you're pondering to yourself "A moon that size wouldn't have a great amount of gravity. Cecil and his cronies could float right into space". And I say to you that you're putting too much thought into this. Let's just say that the answer is magic. It's magic that they're all breathing and not floating into the dark, cold abyss.

Now that we've settled that, you'll notice that you can't get into the crystal tower from there. Head off the grey formation and you'll see an entrance to a cave to the north. That's where you're heading. Head right when you enter the cave, then up. You'll have two directions, left and right. Heading right will lead you to a treasure chest, but be warned that it's a monster-in-a-box. Defeat the baddies, claim your prize, and then head to the left. It's a short distance up the alley until you see the exit. To the right, however, is a pair of treasures. Then head for the exit. You'll find yourself on the moon's surface again. Head to the right and then to the south, then to the right where you'll find another cave entrance. Head in. There's absolutely nothing to this one. Just head down the tunnel until you reach the exit. Head to the left into the crevasse. You should see the mouth of a cave in front of the ice towers. Head in there. Your first stop should be to the left and then the right. They lead to a healing square that if stepped on heals your HP and MP respectively.

Head up into the crystal room where you'll hear a voice. It looks like you're in for a battle, but instead you're confronted by an old man. He introduces himself as FuSoYa, guardian of the Lunarians. He regales you with a tale of his race. This is the first mention of Zemus, a Lunarian with a grudge against the Earth. When FuSoYa finishes telling his tale, he joins the party in order to stop the resurrection of the Robot of Babil. Hurry back to the Lunar Whale and to Earth.

FuSoYa is a great character to have. From a battle standpoint, he is like combining Rosa and Rydia (sans the summon power) into one character. He knows all White spells and all Black spells. His special power, Regen, is not very useful. It renders him completely inept while the party gradually regains a very small amount of HP. It's not completely worth it to use it. His grace lies with his knowledge of every standard black and white spell.

Hurry back to the Lunar Whale, there's a nice optional thing to do!
