Although you saw the village of Mist destroyed, for some reason you can still go back to it. The only thing you can do here is grab some treasure, and even the treasure isn't that great. In the house in the northwest of town there's a secret passage in the fireplace that leads to a room with three treasure chests. On the right wall of this room there's another secret passage that leads to the Change rod, which is a decent rod.
