Head northeast across the desert and you'll come to the town of Kaipo. When you get there, Cecil takes the girl, Rydia, to the Inn. During the night Baron soldiers come for Rydia, and you must fight them off, but this is an easy battle. Rydia then joins your party. In the morning, go to the house in the northeast of town. Here you'll find Rosa, who is very sick. You learn that in order to help her, you need to find the Sand Ruby. Your next destination is the Watery Pass to the northeast.
