| Enemies: Gargoyle, Cockatrice, Imp, Imp Captain, Needler, Bomb,
Gray Bomb, Swordrat, General, Fighter, Weeper, Water Hag Treasure: 500 GP, Tent x2, Cure1 x4, Heal, Black (shield), Ether1 From Mt. Hobs head east to Fabul. When you get there you should buy the Black equipment for Cecil at the armor shop (if you don't have the money you can always get them later). You can also wander around the castle and get the treasures lying around, or you can save this for later. When you're ready, go talk to the king, then agree to help defend the castle. You'll then have to fight off several monsters, but they aren't that tough. You'll finally be forced to retreat to the crystal room. Here Kain will enter the scene, but he's here to fight against you and Cecil will enter a one on one battle. This is a battle that you're supposed to lose, so don't bother putting too much effort into it. After Cecil is defeated, Golbez will enter and take care of the rest of your party. He'll then take both the crystal and Rosa. After he leaves, head to the Inn where you can rest for free. After you rest go and talk to the king, who is now in the right tower. He'll agree to provide you with a boat to take you to Baron, and will also give you the Black sword. Before you leave, go back to the throne room. There's a secret door on the right side of the room that can be opened by a floor switch. Feel your way through a couple of secret passages and you'll be able to get to a treasure room that contains the Black shield, as well as a few other items. When you're all done at the castle head to the harbor to the east. The boat will begin to take you to Baron, but en route it is sunk via Leviathan, scattering your party and leaving Cecil stranded by Mysidia. |
