2. The Queen Returns

Enemies: Blue Imp, Roly, Green Imp, Roly Rider, Blue Eaglet
Treasures: Ether x2, ArmorBronze Mail, Tonic, PowerGlove

After travelling through an awesome portal, you arrive in a forested area known as Truce Canyon. However, before you can leave this area, you are attacked by three Blue Imps. Dispatch them and move on.

There's not much to do in the area aside from dispatching more enemies. Grab the Tonic and the PowerGlove and exit the canyon to find yourself in Truce, but in a different environment. Mist swirls about, and some residences - including Crono's house - have disappeared. Where the heck are you?

That question is answered easily enough upon entering the northern-most residence and talking to the resident matriarch, who informs you that it's the year 600. Good luck finding your mom here. Purchasing and equipping a ArmorKarate Gi for Crono at the market is a good idea. Although she shows up on the market screen, don't bother buying any new equipment for Marle just yet. The Truce Inn contains another Sealed Box, but there is still nothing you can do about it. If you speak to the townsfolk at the bar, a man named Toma will enter. He's an explorer, and if you buy him a drink, he'll explain that the Queen disappeared while visiting the Cathedral. However, he hears that the Queen has been found and subsequently tells you to forget it.

Head to Guardia Forest, your conduit to Guardia Castle, the next destination.

The forest is very straightforward - just head to the north. The Power Tab is in the southeast, and you can get a Shelter from a creature in one of the moving bushes. There is another Sealed Box in the northeast. You still can't open it.

You've arrived at Guardia Castle at last. The soldiers at the gate try to push you away as you enter, but the Queen tells them to stand down and let you through. She mysteriously refers to you as "friend" and leaves. This opens up many possibilities for you to do. Travelling west will lead to the Knight's Quarters, where you can listen in on the castle talk by the Knight Captain and learn about Cyrus and the Queen. Talking to the maid will also let you recover your HP. Travelling east will go to the kitchen which an ill-tempered chef. Sit at the northwest setting of the northwest table and a maid will come running. The Hyper Kabob is the only thing worth eating, as it restores both HP and MP. The two other choices restore one or the other. There is an Ether in the chest in the kitchen.

Heading north will take you to the throne room. The Chancellor seems to be lost in thought and will leave upon speaking with you, and the King is grateful that you "rescued" the Queen, but is troubled that she lost her coral pin and is acting strangely. The western stairs lead you to the King's room - collect 100G and note the Sealed Box along the way. The chancellor is here, and talking to him through the wall will result in a VERY odd statement that the Queen has escaped, even though she was in a secured room. What's he talking about? There is a chest with ArmorBronze Mail in it next to the King's bed.

The eastern stairs lead to the mysterious Queen Leene. There are chests with both a Tonic and Ether along this eastern path. The Queen will dismiss her servants and then reveal that she is, in fact, Marle. Everyone has mistaken her for, and are calling her, Queen Leene. However, before she can say too much, she vanishes in an explosion of light.
