As you get back into the Epoch, the Black Omen will rise from the ocean. Everyone is skeptical, because evidently it is a part of the Ocean Palace. However, the Black Omen will be covered as a sidequest later - for now, return to the End of Time.

Talk to the Old Man there, who will give you a song about Crono. After talking for awhile, he'll let you walk again, but if you try to leave, he calls you back and gives you the CTrigger. After that, he'll reveal that he is the Guru of Time and give you instructions on how to use it. The next stop is in the Future, at the Keeper's Dome.

Belthasar, in Nu form, will tell you that Death Peak has the power to restore life. However, in order for that to work, you're going to need a Clone. The place to get a Clone? Norstein Bekkler's lab at the Millennial Fair.

Head to the Tent of Horrors once you get there, and Bekkler will give you the opportunity to win a clone from him. Depending on how long you last in the game, the clone will be a lower price. Afterward, the Clone will be available at Crono's House. Go talk to Crono's mother and she'll give you the clone after a sad moment.

Return to the Keeper's Dome, where the Nu will give you three Dolls that will help you climb Death Peak. Then he will ask you to turn off the Nu and allow it to sleep beyond the flows of time. After doing the last task, head to Death Peak.

When you enter Death Peak, there will be a windy road to walk up, and the wind periodically picks up and blows you off the mountain. Halfway up, a Doll will be there and will create a tree. When the wind gets strong, you have to run against the tree, which is difficult because you have to be very precise. Do this twice and you'll be at a normal part of the dungeon.

Afterwards, climb up a few ladders, fight some Krakkers, and exit to the right. In the next screen, there is a save point at the bottom right, but you want to exit through the cave at the top of the screen. As soon as you get into the cave, you'll have to fight a boss.

Take some physical attackers, here—Frog, Ayla, and Robo will do. Have Frog use Leap Slash, Ayla Cat Attack, and Robo Uzzi Punch. Do not attack the shell! If you attack the shell, the Lavos Spawn will release a strong counterattack. Continue using those, and if necessary, have Robo and Frog use a Cure Wave Dual Tech to heal.

Move on through the cave, across the bridge of snow, then through another cave until you reach a little balcony of snow. At the top left corner of this balcony, there is a glimmering spot that will open up another cave if activated. Return to the outside of the cave and enter the one you just activated. After grabbing the ScytheStarScythe from the chest, exit the cave and fight another Lavos Spawn.

The Lavos Spawn is the same as the previous, so move on after you defeat it. Here is the second of three dolls, and he tells you that the path is slippery and not to fall. The wind is blowing, so time your movements to get across correctly. It's not overly difficult.

Afterwards, you'll enter an area with falling Krakkers. They're easily defeated with one level two elemental spell and give fine Tech Points, so it's a good idea to fight all eight. Afterward, go down their path and into the next area, then take another left and walk.

The third doll is here, and he tells you to push and climb the shell. Continue on and climb down the ladder for a HelmetDarkHelm and a Save Point, and you'll meet the third Lavos Spawn. Unlike the previous two, this one leaves its shell after being defeated, so push it over to the half-ladder and use it to climb up to the next level.

You've reached the Summit of Death Peak. Your party members will pray to the Chrono Trigger, but it will shatter. However, the sun gets covered up and you're teleported to a frozen time period at the instant Crono was killed by Lavos. Check him and you'll exchange him for the clone, and you're sent back to the summit. After a touching moment with one of the party members, you're returned to the End of Time.
