Final Fantasy VI WalkthroughIf you've ever gotten stuck in a Final Fantasy game and have been desperate to move on, you need a walkthrough. Luckily for you, we have walkthroughs written by one of the preeminent sages of Final Fantasy, Darrk Phoenix. Simply navigate through the chapters of the walkthrough to find out just what you need to get through Final Fantasy VI.

You start the game with Terra and two imperial soldiers. You are in Magitek Armor, so it's just about impossible to lose the battles here unless you do nothing. The Magitek Armor limits the places that you can go right now, so just continue forward. Use Heal Force during battles to keep your HP up, or use Terra's Cure spell between battles.
After entering the mines, you'll come across the first save point in the game. Save here and continue forward; you're about to encounter the first boss. After defeating Whelk, continue forward to the frozen esper. A reaction will occur between Terra and the esper. Vicks and Wedge will get blown away, and Terra will lose consciousness. You awake inside one of the houses in Narshe, and here you'll get your first glimpse into Terra's past. Guards come to the house, forcing Terra to flee. Before you go, however, check the clock an Elixir.
There is only one path available to you, so just keep going. In the mines you'll find a save point, as well as a sleeping bag and a Phoenix Down. After going a little ways into the mine, Terra will fall through a hole and get knocked unconscious. The scene now returns to the house in Narshe, where you will be introduced to Locke. Locke will go to rescue Terra, but as soon as he gets to her, some guards show up. Fortunately, moogles will come to your aid. You must now use the moogles to keep the guards from getting to Terra. You will be in control of three parties: one with Locke and 3 moogles, one with Mog and three moogles, and one with 4 ordinary moogles. Leave two of the parties by Terra and take one of the parties out to intercept the enemy forces. I'd recommend using the party with Mog at this point, since after the first battle he will be able to use the Dusk Requiem dance, which will be very helpful in the rest of the battles. Once you've defeated all of the guards, take your strongest party to fight the Marshal. NOTE: At this point, you might want to unequip Mog if he's not in the party you're using, since this will give you strong equipment that you can't get for a while.
After defeating the Marshal, Locke will take Terra out a secret back door (remember this, because you will use it later in the game). Before you leave Narshe, you should pay a visit to the first building you encounter (and the only building you have access to right now). Here you can pick up tips on how to play, as well as finding a tonic and a sleeping bag.
