Weren't you just here? Yes, but this time, you're on the other side of the tower. Edge uses his ninjitsu to get into the tower—it seems that this is some sort of powerful skill, since it works for everyone. You'll never see it again. Immediately, you see a treasure chest. And of course, we can't leave a treasure chest untouched, especially in the enemy's camp. Head around the area and get to the next door. The next floor looks much like the first except in reverse. Just follow the path around the room. The long bridge in the center of the path leads to a treasure chest. They went a long way to keep it from you. And good for you, it's a monster-in-a-box. But what have we learned about this sort of thing? A treasure is bound to be good if you have to fight for it. Once you win and claim your reward, head back onto the path and get to the door at the end. The next floor is rather short. A path leading to the next door and a treasure chest. You'll have two ways to go. Going left leads to nothing but a dead end, so head to the right. Go along the winding path and onto the next floor. You'll have two ways to go. Going straight down leads nowhere. Going to the right leads to a glowing orb—which does nothing—and two doors, the first of which is a save point. Head to the next door and find your way to B5F. Go down the bridge and go all the way to the left and up one of the platforms to grab a treasure chest. Head back to the right and go towards the next door.

Before you can make it, you get a surprise guest. Your pleasure to see them will be short-lived.

Before you can even do anything after this scene, Rubicant shows up. By talking with Rubicant, you can tell that he's nothing like the three elemental fiends before him. He's sincere, and dare I say... thoughtful? He's a true admirer of the fighting spirit and not necessarily an admirer of evil. He'd be a nice addition to your party if he wasn't affiliated with Golbez, but hey, he flipped his coin long before you came along. He's even nice enough to replenish your HP before you take him on. How noble.

Congratulations, you're on your last Elemental Fiend. Unfortunately, this one isn't a walk in the park like the previous "battle." But Rubes did give you one hint before you fought: When his cloak is closed, barely anything can touch him. Before you engage in the battle with him, make sure Cecil and Kain are equipped with SwordIceBrand and SpearBlizzard respectively as this will do hefty damage against the fiery foe. Attack only when his cloak is open. If you use any kind of spell while it's closed, he'll absorb it for health.

Fortunately, you can still attack normally when his cloak is up. But for every attack, he'll counter with OFire2 on everyone. Take the time he has his cloak closed for healing. Rubes' big move is Scorch which ravages a character's HP for pretty big damage. Have Cecil and Kain attack normally. With their ice elemental weapons equipped, they'll take the HP off Rubicant like a hungry lion to a gazelle. Have Rydia alternate between her strongest ice spell, which at this stage should still be OIce2 unless you mass leveled up, and summoning OShiva. The combo should do some big damage to the fire fiend. Have Edge cast his newfound Flood. This won't take away as much as the others' attacks, but it's the best move he can pull off. Rosa is the quintessential healer, of course. Have her cure whenever needed. If her turn comes up and no further healing is necessary, have her cast OArmor on the party to try to decrease some of the damage his fire spells inflict. If you keep on shelling out the attacks with Kain and Cecil and their ice infused weapons, Rubes will go down hard.

With Rubicant defeated, Edge has his vengeance for Eblan. And, just a second too late, here comes the cavalry. When the Eblan troops show up to stick it to Rubicant with you, Edge informs the troops they missed the boat and that all has been handled. Even though Edge achieved his vengeance, he still requests to stay with the group to help them lay the hurt on Golbez.

The conveniently-mistimed reinforcements leave and you're able to control the party again. It might be wise to rush back to the save point to heal your wounds with a good night's sleep, and then head back to the battleground and through the door that Rubicant kept you from. It will reveal to you a room full of crystals. There they all are... it looks like you'll finally be able to retrieve them all and restore order to the world. But that'd be too easy. Golbez, as usual, has set you up in a trap and dropped the floor out from under you. The group takes a spill into the depths of the tower.

Once you're back up, head down and enter the door and begin your attempts to get the crystals again. You'll come to 7F. Head up the hall again. The path to each new floor is very easily navigated. Continue down the hall of 6F, go right until you find the bridge leading to a door. This leads to one of the Red Wing ships. Without regard for any potential ethical questions, Edge decides to steal the ship to get out of the tower.

When you gain control of the newly appointed Falcon, you'll find that you are once again in the Underworld. Seeing that you really only know of one place to go, and this new airship isn't fully prepared to fly over molten magma yet, head back to the kingdom of Dwarves.
