Final Fantasy IX Support Abilities
Support abilities differ from active abilities in that they are not used as commands by the characters who learn them. By equipping a piece of equipment, the character will gain access to the abilities of that equipment as well as earning AP towards learning it permanently. Once learned, the ability will be available while having the equipment on or by using magic stones to equip the ability without its base equipment. See below for the equipment that teaches each ability, which characters can learn it, and how many stones each character must use to keep the ability around.
