Final Fantasy IX White Magic

With the exception of blue magic, magic in Final Fantasy IX falls under the same general category of Active Abilities. White magic, black magic, and Eidolons are all learned via equipment in a straightforward way; sword magic requires that Steiner have the ability learned plus Vivi in the party; blue magic requires Quina to eat up some creatures.
