Alleyway Jack

Alleyway Jack

Biography

Alleyway Jack is a four-armed man who appears in many cities throughout the world and initially teaches the party how to play the card game Tetra Master. He is a thief, and the party can unfortunately discover his thieving ways in Active Time Events in Treno, much to their detriment. Later in the game, he takes up residence in Daguerreo and will grade the player on their treasure hunting skills based on how many chests throughout the world they have opened.

Only when the player has opened nearly every chest in the world will Alleyway Jack expose his two secrets: first, he is a fraud, and has not accomplished much in the way of treasure hunting; and second, his real name is Gilgamesh, a character who shows up in several other Final Fantasy games. It's unclear whether or not he is the same person.
