5. Learn to Hate Emerald Mountain

Enemies: None
Treasures: 30,000G Shelter, 2x Lapis, Elixir, 2x Athenian Water, Turbo Ether, HelmetRainbow Helm, HelmetMermaid Helm, ArmorNova Armor

NOTE: When climbing Emerald Mountain, you will occasionally see a Wonder Rock, an enemy similar in appearance to the Rubble you saw on Mount Woe. A tough enemy, yes, but this is not important. All you really want from this enemy is the Lumicite, a Charmable item from which a reptite in the Middle Ages will craft some very powerful armor. So, if you want a shot at the armor, keep Ayla in your party while going up and down the mountain.

Head to the Middle Ages, and speak to the reptite in the lower-left corner. You agree to check on a lonely figure on the mountain, so head off to do so. In the forest you pass through to get to the base of the mountain, search around for chests containing 50000G, a Shelter, a Lapis, an Elixir and an Athenian Water. These are all in nearly the exact same places as their Prehistoric counterparts. When you're ready, head up the mountain. You'll see the Nu you beat millennia ago at the foot, but he will wait for you at the top. On your way, pick up 30000G and a Lapis before noticing that the bridge is broken, and you cannot pass.

Return to the village and speak to the reptite in the lower right corner, who will mention sturdy vines which will help your repairs. Head to the southern forest, and a sparkle in the top right part of the area will be the Sturdy Vines that you need. Try and place the vines on the bridge, but the characters will realise that you'll need to place them in Prehistory first. After placing the second ladder, return to the Middle Ages and continue up the mountain. Additional items to collect on your way up include an Athenian Water, a HelmetRainbow Helm, a Turbo Ether and a HelmetMermaid Helm. Before going onto the peak of the mountain, it would be a good idea to heal and save, as a boss awaits you immediately after entering. Lo and behold, it is the Nu Master, a stronger enemy than the Nu Guardian you fought back in Prehistory.

Strategy
This guy has a lot of annoying attacks. Devil’s Drop halves your HP, Life Shaver reduces your HP to 1, he counters each attack with a HP draining attack, and has a lot of powerful spells, including an instant-death attack. Unfortunately, his evasion is quite high, so the best strategy here is to go nuts with double and triple techs, making sure that you heal when you have to. Oh, and he absorbs Shadow element, so don't use any Shadow Double/Triple Techs by accident. When it says that his Power Increases, he'll absorb every element, but still be resistant to physical attacks, so use non-elemental techs, but keep healing, since he'll start using Overdrive, a high-damage attack, and Death's Rainbow a lot more often. Even though he only has 8800HP, this battle can drag on, so be prepared.

Return to the village, speak to the reptite, and he will reward you with ArmorNova Armor. Worth it? That's up to you.
