Some hidden things ff6 include, but are not limited to the following. Some of which are not all hidden, but if you are starting off, this is a good example to follow.
2 Strikes: wear a genji glove and equip 2 weapons. 4 Strikes: Equip the Offering, dropped by KatanaSoul (pink samurai) in the ancient castle. 8 Strikes: Equip offering and a genji glove. **16 Strikes**: Equip the offering and the genji glove, cast quick on yourself, and you will be able to annihilate your opponents with 16 attacks. VERY EFFECTIVE FOR LOW LEVEL CHARACTERS!! Cursed Shield: This shield is obtained in WoR Narshe. Talk to that one man in his bed, and he'll give you it. How to use it? Fight 255 battles (either in one period, or spread over several). You switch who uses this and the battle total so far will stay the same, never fear. It is recommended that you equip a ribbon on the bearer, so that only the condemned spell will remain. Or if you don't have one (though you should), just equip a peace ring, which protects against both berserk and muddle. Paladin Shield: An extremely powerful shield, the best in the game. Adds a ton to all stats. adds a lot of defense, evade, and magic block (MBlock). The result of 255 fights with the cursed shield equipped. Ragnorok Sword: When the man in his chair in WoR Narshe asks "What shall we do with this magicite?" Say forge the sword ALWAYS. It transforms into the 2nd best sword in the game, adding lots to stats evade and mblock, and 255 BP. Ragnorok Esper: Do not choose to leave it as an esper!! The result is not as great as you think. It turns an enemy into an item. Woohoo. And it teaches you ultima x1, while the paladin shield already does this, as this esper is worthless. Illumina: Wager the ragnorok sword at the colloseum and fight a whimpy didalos. watch out for this monster's flare star: it is the most deadly attack it has. If you defeat it, you will be rewarded with the best sword in the game, which adds even more evade, mblock, and to stats. The only drawback is that this weapon (and the ragnorok sword) both drain 10-15 mana with each super-powered blow. If your mana drops to 0, you will inflict normal damage without any magically-enhanced strength. Relic Ring: This ring is found right above the area of the 3 doors in the dark area of jidoor (accessible only in WoR). Follow the trail that leads above them, and press A. You will have found the relic ring. This strange relic has a pitiful description "makes body cold". Although it's true purpose is unknown, other than secretly turning that character into a zombie, the bearer may cast doom on an ally. If the spell connects, it will heal the entire party to full. Any other aspects of this ring are unknown. Cursed Ring: There is no point to this ring at all. After 255 battles or anything else, it does nothing. This is simply a teaser, don't waste your time wagering your cursed shield for it in the colloseum. Golem Esper: Bet on it successfully in the WoB Jidoor auction. Zoneseek Esper: Bet on it successfully in the WoR Jidoor auction. Atma Weapon (sword): While in the Cave to the Sealed Gate, that one area just before you go outside and release the espers, there is a shy little area over to the left a little. enter the small room, and claim four treasure chests, one of which will be the best sword in the game so far. This magnificent weapon has its ups and downs. The more life its wielder has, the more powerful his/her attacks will become, although the lesser life the wielder has, the weaker the attacks will be. It can be the best sword for damage for a while, but not while you possess the Ragnorok sword, and later on Illumina. Alexandr Esper: Go to sleep in Doma Castle in the WoR with 4 people in your party, including Cyan. Go through the retarded dream stooges, and annihilate wrexsoul, assuming you paid attention to what he said. When he vanishes, and after cyan's family congratulates and encourages him, grab the esper on the throne. Sky Render Sword: Kill the Death Dragon (or whatever) in Kefka's Tower, it is a powerful sword for Cyan. Crusader Esper: Destroy all eight dragons to receive it. Bahamut Esper: Defeat Doom Gaze for this esper. Odin Esper: Go to the ancient castle, and claim the magicite form of him on his throne. Raiden Upgrade (Odin's 2nd Form): Go a few steps from the queen's throne (on the right) and press A. You will hear a booming sound. Go back to the room with the book case. A new stairway will be open for you. Go down this and claim the tear on the queen's face and Odin will become Raiden. Although Raiden is the only esper that can teach you 'Quick', the requirement for 16 strikes, Odin is the only esper who can add speed to your character, it is simply your choice. Dude, when you come to site originally dedicated to FFVI, you can't possibly think you're the only one that knows these things. I read your entire list of things and learned absolutely nothing that I haven't known since the first ... 3 times I played through. And even the 5% of the forum goers who didn't know all this stuff could've learned it easily through the extensive coverage the Caves of Narshe covers on the game. You're new here, and if there's one thing I can't stand is n00bs who try to show off their "extensive knowledge" like they're the only one who knew it. Sorry if this may seem like I'm trolling, and I'll take the warning if a mod sees fit.
Besides that, the so-called "secrets" are really generalities that anyone can pick up rather easily if they did a little thinking, some of them only need observation. Besides that, what's wrong with the Ragnarok esper? I found it quite useful, besides obtaining Ultima. You have to look at it, maybe the item isn't quite that great, but killing a foe, especially a Brontosaur, with one shot is great. Granted the sword is good and you can get Ultima from the Paladin Shield, it's all a matter of personal choice. -------------------- "When I turn the page The corner bends into the perfect dog ear As if the words knew I'd need them again But at the time, I didn't see it." ~"This Ain't a Surfin' Movie" - Minus the Bear |

yeah, why dont you learn to shutup. some people are idiots and dont have a clue where to look. no, im not new. ive played through 5 times, and i know alot more than that. if that's all you can say about me helping certain people, then just dont say anything.
sure, some people will see this as simply a review to them, but others might not. sure, you can get some freakin sweet items by using that esper, but alot of other forums agree that it isnt that great after all. besides, you can steal or wager for most of them anyway. and that's BRACHOSAUR. and really, ragnorok never hits anyway. besides, just equip life 3 and illumina and use it and ultima a few times, and hes finished. not too hard to do all of that. What I find interesting is that you included the Sky Render sword in your list of "secrets", being that it's a drop from a mandatory boss. Just for the record, the boss is Doom, but I'm sure you already knew that.
Edit What else I found interesting is that having the wearer of the Relic Ring cast Doom on an ally simply kills the ally. If you cast doom on the wearer, he'll be fully recovered, but there's no way to heal the entire party by casting Doom. Also, just for the record, there is a 99.6% chance of the Ragnarok esper morphing Brontaur. Before you try to write a guide or a FAQ informing "certain people" of some well-known secrets to a game, be sure to get your facts straight. He doesn't mean a newbie to the game, he means a newbie to the forums. And I have to go with Sabin on this one. This information is already well known throughout the community, and while it's nice to see you want to share knowledge, it's quite pointless to do so when it wasn't asked for to begin with, and when the same exact information can be found on the site as it is.

To be honest, I was under the impression that most of these things were implied in the game.
As in, Genji Glove's description: Hit enemy twice, etc. etc. And other than that, it's just simple math to get you 16 hits 'n things. ...And played it five times? XD I think you'd still be considered a newb for that, many folks here seem to have played it through many times on various media. -------------------- You're telling me that there's no hope. like i said, some people do not pay attention..and second, ive played it a lot longer than you apparently think. just because i havent felt like beating it more than 5 times, doesnt mean i have no idea how anything works.

I'm confused now. You said in your original retaliation against Sabin that you know what you're talking about because you played through it 5 times, and you know a lot more than what you listed there, but in this last post, you said you don't know the exact locations of some things because you only played through it five times.
Anyways, I'm not wasting anymore of my life in this thread. Just one little tidbit of advice: before you post a guide for new players, make sure you know what you're talking about. One of your tips was flat-out misleading, one had no reason to be put in there since it's impossible not to get the item, and the others are clearly described in the game. -------------------- Is PJ |

This is going to be painful for a lot of people...
Well, the thread is bad. Why, is it? Because not only is it useless, since we have a good FF6 section (I think it fair to assume that people wanting to know more about FF6 out of a FF site would try the appropriate section of the site instead of searching throughout an immense collection of threads in a forum), but it is also filled with a lot of things falling outside our set of rules. In fact, I do believe that all rules were broken in here, so this is why I'll take the time to point them out, because apparently a lot of people haven't read them in a long time. Rule 1: about spam. There is spam in this thread: off topic post, doubleposting, 4 words post, acting like a mod post. Nearly a cleansweep here... Rule 2: about content. We are walking the line here, with nothing worst than "stupid" and "shut up", nevertheless people should be careful about walking the line. Rule 3: about avatar, signature and adverts. Nothing wrong here. That's a relief though... Rule 4: about the PM system. A lot of things could have happen using the PM system. If something is going on using the PM system and is actually against the rules (harassment and such), we will know about it. And we will warn people. Rule 5: about general annoyance. Nuff said here. The fact that this thread needs so much work from a staff member is enough. All the other rules are irrelevant here, axcept Rule 7: Punishment. Why, would you ask? Because if someone tries to continue this thread, he or she will be warned, I can guarantee that. In fact, some warning will probably be handed down anyway regardless of people continuing this thread, considering the amount of violation in here with only 10 posts... And now, I'll go eat some breakfast. This post has been edited by Mr Thou on 3rd August 2005 10:01 |

Back to topic.... Yes, true, this is a FFVI Website that has as much info as any site can pile together. Though, this could be a fairly useful topic, for those who dont look anywhere but the fourms. -------------------- Its not denial. Not big deal, I'll say. Cursed shield morphing into Paladin Shield , that's a secret. Surely there is people who didn't knew about these things, so is Ok. For example, Gau equipping almost any weapon , that can be a secret, though...just put a weapon on the last item slot, an then proceed to equip, and select Optimum. Even if this is great, surely most of the people around here knew about this.
