Wiegraf Folles

Wiegraf Folles

Biography

For a short time, Wiegraf and Ramza live in parallel, while still skirmishing as neither knows that some of their goals are aligned. A commoner, Wiegraf leads the Corpse Brigade, a small army of revolutionaries aiming to remove Ivalice's feudal system as payback for mistreatment in the Fifty Years' War. Rogue members of his forces botch kidnappings of both Alma (taking Tietra instead) and Elmdore, bringing down the wrath of both the White and Black Lions, and giving him reason to reverse both just as Ramza does the same. Any potential common ground between the two becomes more impossible, though, as Ramza slays Wiegraf's sister, Milleuda, in battle. For a time, Wiegraf disappears from view, in mourning and with his forces annihilated.

A powerful knight but a commoner, Wiegraf feels as if he has no place to go after his sister's death and the collapse of his army. This makes him open to the idea of joining the Knights Templar, which he does in order to build the power to exact his revenge. Upon encountering Ramza again, he is mortally wounded; the Zodiac Stone given to him by Folmarv reacts, giving Wiegraf the opportunity to survive under the power of the Lucavi. Ramza encounters Wiegraf one last time, with the latter fully embracing the power of the Lucavi - when even that is not enough to kill his rival, Wiegraf permanently transforms into the demon who grants him his powers but is slain with finality.
