Biography
Celes is a young magic user and a general for the Empire alongside Kefka and Leo, having been groomed by the Empire since childhood to be a magic-using soldier. Celes is imprisoned in South Figaro early in the events of Final Fantasy VI for betraying the Empire for reasons unclear; Celes escapes captivity with the help of Locke when he infiltrates South Figaro for the Returners. She assists the Returners in the defense of Narshe, the journey to the eastern continent, the assault on the Imperial continent, and the mission to Thamasa.Celes cements her commitment to the team on the floating continent when she stabs Kefka with a sword following Gestahl's orders to execute the other party members. Celes is with your party for most of the World of Balance and the entirety of the World of Ruin, making her a cornerstone of your party throughout Final Fantasy VI. The imperial scientist Cid considers Celes family, and he aids the Returners when the party meets him in Vector. Celes struggles with her role as a former Imperial soldier for most of the game's first half, and most of the party is unwilling to accept her as a teammate at first. Following the Day of Judgement, Celes awakens from a coma on the Solitary Island, where Cid has been tending to her for a full year and has fallen ill. Eventually, Celes uses a raft built by Cid to depart from the Solitary Island and challenge the newly-ravaged land. As the first character of the World of Ruin, Celes must become the ray of hope that reunites the party and challenges Kefka. Locke and Celes have a romance that develops over the course of Final Fantasy VI, culminating in their escape together in the game's final cutscenes.

Special Skill: Runic
Runic disables Celes as a character, and sets her up as an advanced lightning rod: any Magic will be absorbed by her Runic blade and converted into MP. The only drawbacks here are that Celes can't act and the fact that should Celes have absorbed the spell in the first place by means of elemental properties (say, she absorbs

When Celes has absorbed a spell, she won't absorb any other spells until you command her to use Runic again.
Also, take note that Celes will be more than happy to absorb Magic your own characters cast. She can't absorb all standard magic spells; she will fail at these:
She can also absorb a handful of enemy attacks.
