Hey guys, me again. I got a question about making a skill as a sub class. Like the Punch Art as it's called, what main classes does it work best for? I'm kinda trying all these out, like I found that a Black/Time mage has the highest magic power, so any attacking magic works best if you're that class, but what about things like Dance, and all of those? As a mage, my dances do like half as much (that Wiznaibus one at least) so it's not magic power? What exactly are the best classes to go with a sub set of skills?
Here's the main ones I wanna know: The best thief (like if the chances are better or worse as another class) Dance skills Punch Art Oracle skills and ummm, White magic too I think. Is it only affected by magic power? Thanks guys. |

Alright. First, go to Gamefaqs.com, look up FFT, and check the Battle Mechanic's guide. It details the game mathematically, breaking down the formula's and calculating virtually everything, from damage to hit percent to how often a reaction skill goes off.
Second, the damage that Wiznaibus does is calculated like so: Damage: [(1+Br/100)*PA] Br is Brave, and PA is physical attack. So, someone with a Brave of 80 and a PA of 8 does Wiznaibus. For base damage, no other factors thrown in, it would be 6.48. So, you want to get that person's Brave as high as possible (Either through the Mediator's Praise ability, or more perferrably, one of Ramza's unique squire abilities like Cheer Up or Scream). Every +4 brave adds a permanent +1 to the unit's total Brave, so it'll take you a few battles. Highest I've gotten is 97. Slap Dance onto a class that does a lot of high physical damage, like Monk, and you'll start dishing some pain. Doesn't hurt to add equipment that raises PA, like Genji Gauntlet's or Power Sleeve. -------------------- Think about this concept for a second, and you tell me that you would not think twice before purchasing it: ghetto breast milk |

He suggested the FAQ, because even different actions within a job set are dependent on different factors. Your pretty safe with a Wizard for Magic and a Monk for Physical type attacks as these two classes have the highest multiplier for MA and PA respectively.

Plus, I find it better that someone learns it on their own. Its really not all that hard to understand, so long as you have a basic understanding of simple math (add, subtract, multiply, divide). -------------------- Think about this concept for a second, and you tell me that you would not think twice before purchasing it: ghetto breast milk |

I'll list some of my combinations that I almost always use :
Punch Art : on almost any warrior type job, such as Lancer, Samouraï or Knight, since most attacks (except Secret Fist) are based on PA. With Punch Art your warrior now have acces to long range attack, medium range, healing power and ressurection ability. It makes it priceless, since most warriors have a nice amount of HP. If you want to heavilly rely on Punch Art while at another job, using Martial Arts as a Support Skill is a must. Dance Skill : except for Wiznaibus, all dances are random, so you can feel free to slap the ability to any class (with a high PA, if you want to use Wiznaibus). Magic Skillset : almost as important as having a good MA is having a Good Faith, since almost every spell take in factor your Faith, your MA, your opponent Faith and a fixed factor depending on the speel you're using (for example, this factor is higher in Fire 3 than in Fire 2). Zodiac affinity comes into it too. So, when choosing to make one of your character a mage type class, make sure that he has a high Faith : it's much more important than having a high Brave when choosing a warrior type class Best thief : a thread has been created recently. Beware though, as it has spoilers. http://www.cavesofnarshe.com/forums/ipb/in...?showtopic=3233 Finally, my last advice is to try out : you'll find your way of combining skillsets and classes, and have your own style of fighting with your characters (depending that you don't rely solely on Orlandu, of course ![]() This post has been edited by Mr Thou on 28th May 2004 13:48 |
