incidentally my mother's side of the family is polish. they emigrated slightly prior to the second world war after noticing disturbing trends in the european power structure. my father's side is cuban.
i've never been to either country. i don't think i'd really care to go to poland (i don't speak the language or know the culture), but i would kill to go to cuba. after undergrad is finished i plan on taking a month's vacation to cuba, but who knows how that'll turn out. |

I'm blonde and Irish, but I actually have srong native american ties with the cherokee. So I suppose my home is in Ireland. I plan on going to Ireland some day, with my girlfriend...

I'll quote mine from the other topic to save you from having to dig through it:
Quote (Iain Peregrine From the other topic) It depends on which member of my family you ask. But the consencis seems to be: Between 25 and 50 percent Irish; Exactly 25% portugeise; Exactly 25% Swedish; And whatever's left is just plain old American. Irish Portugeise is actually very predominant in the parts of New England I'm from, so I've never really thought of anywhere but New England as being my "Home". We do lean heavily on our irish side, though, especially when it comes to music; I would like to go to Irland one day. |

That was probably the better idea ![]() Quote (Dark Paladin From other Topic) My last name is French, but I'm mostly (half) Irish. I have a little bit of German mixed in, too (like an eighth) I've never been big on "heritage" as in where I came from. It just doesn't really seem like a big deal to me. I would like to travel to these places, but the reason would most likely to get away from the heat I'm always suffering through ![]() Looking at history (despite the little attention they get, and the little I know) I like the Irish. They're cool ![]() -------------------- "I had to write four novels before they let me write comic books." -Brad Meltzer |
