Always been told I was polish (at least everyone assumes that for some reason that I still don't get), but I got a gander at some of my family records and it looks more like we Polenskes hail from northeast Germany, so close to Poland that it makes no difference either way. Â Then I think the rest is composed of Russian descent. Â Oh and there's 1/4 Portugual (sp?) to compensate for all the eastern bloc blood. Â Beyond that, I think I'm a lil bit native american (from where I have no clue) and the rest is god knows what.

i think i have a lot of different ethnicities. but the ones i've been told most is Dutch, French, and a little Italian although it's probably very little since i don't talk or look even the least bit italian.
So yeah, Dutch and French are the two main ones for me -------------------- "When I turn the page The corner bends into the perfect dog ear As if the words knew I'd need them again But at the time, I didn't see it." ~"This Ain't a Surfin' Movie" - Minus the Bear |

Well I'm about...let's see...1/2 Scottish (grandmother born and raised there, then moved here) I assume my grandfather was at least partially Scottish too, since his last name is Cameron. Then there's 1/4 Irish from my other grandmother, and the last 1/4 would be Acadian (french Canadian on the East side of the country.)

My mother was born in Campobasso, Italy. My grandparents on her side are from there, their parents before them and on and on for a long way back, though at some point there's a little bit of Neapolitan. Grandparents came to Canada, like most at the time, to avoid the war and moved back shortly after. Came back with my Mother in the 70's. My father's side is a mix of things. My father was born in Casablanca, Morroco where my grand parents were living at the time. That grandmother was born in Paris, as was most of her family before her. My grandfather and most of his family was born in Córdoba, Spain. Around the time my father was 15, they moved shortly to Israel and then finally to Canada in the 60's.
So, I've got a nice chunk of Europe in my blood, it seems. This post has been edited by Dragon_Fire on 10th December 2006 06:35 -------------------- Okay, but there was a goat! |

Should I tell you what I REALLY am, or what I was made to believe until my grandma died....
Well in real life, i'm about 1/2 polish, 1/8 british, 1/8 swedish, and an 1/8 Chawktaw (sp?) Indian. My grandma wanted me and my sisters to think we were part Irish instead of Native American for some reason. Most likely because she hated my grandpa, because he just walked out on my mom and her 3 brothers and 2 sisters. We got back into contact with him about 5 years ago, but my mom went down to arizona to visit him and I guess he said a whole bunch of crap, so now we disowned him again. His brother, my great uncle Terry, is really cool though. We went to visit him and my 2 cousins when we went to California. My uncle hates his brother too, and disowned him as well. So in closing, I found out that I'm actually part Native American instead of Irish complements of my estranged (sp?) grandfather. -------------------- The clouds ran away, opened up the sky And one by one I watched every constellation die And there I was frozen, standing in my backyard Face to face, eye to eye, staring at the last star I should've known, walked all the way home To find that she wasn't here, I'm still all alone -Atmosphere "Always Coming Back Home to You" |

I'm a bit of everything European, really. I have no idea on the percentages. For forever my dad thought we were really really Irish or something..but then my mom did the geneology and found out that wasn't true..we're more German.

Ooh, this is cool. I'd really like to discover the percentages on these, but as far as I know, I have primarily English blood, and then German, Scottish, and Irish, in that order. My last name, Gettling, used to be spelled Goettling, but pronounced the same. It's very German, so my parents got strange looks when they toured Europe earlier in life when World War 2 sentiments were still strong.

Yeah, this is cool. Â I'm mainly German and Irish, myself. Â My last name is German (Grimmer). I don't think the spelling was changed when my ancestors came over to this country though as there are still people over in Germany with the same spelling.
In addition, I also have tiny bit Scottish and French ( ![]() -------------------- "It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it." - Aristotle |

I'll give you all my last name(stalk me if you dare =P) and you can guess what makes me up in the majority. Here goes:
Antobenedetto Yes, that's right. I'm a good old Italian. My mom's 1/2 Irish so that screws me up a bit. 3/4 is ok I guess. What gets me is how much the damn Irish comes through. I have light brown hair and my skin is pale which burns in the sun. In short, I hate the Irish part of me. The biggest embarassment is their inability to cook. Boiled dinner sucks! I have to say, I'm not 100% sure of these percentages, but to the best of my knowledge, I'm a quarter Portuguese and three-quarters German. When someone asks, though, my short answer is always Portuguese, as I more closely resemble that nationality.

Ethnically Chinese. My father makes a big deal about how I'm 1/2 Chinese and 1/2 Taiwanese. Dad's side of the family has lived in Taiwan for 200 years, making them culturally Taiwanese living under Japanese colonial rule. And my materal granfather emigrated to Taiwan during WWII, which makes them actually mainland Chinese. So yeah.. racially, I am Chinese. Ethnically/culturally, I am Chinese-Taiwanese-Japanese. And apparently I don't look Chinese, but instead I look Japanese or Korean. Confusing, yes?

It depends on which member of my family you ask. But the consencis seems to be: Between 25 and 50 percent Irish; Exactly 25% portugeise; Exactly 25% Swedish; And whatever's left is just plain old American.
Our name is Brennan, and our heritage is very Irish. So if you ask me, Irish. ![]() |

Well, I'm mostly German-saaay, about 3/4-and I'm about 1/4 Italian. I've been told I have some Irish in me, but I don't know anyone in my family who looks remotely Irish, so I'd say the number would be about 1/91423519091234756...
