no this isn't the atma weapon one.. this is what you can say is actually true and i've done it my self.
you need the following equipment. Atmaweapon and another weapon that does 9999 damage or two 9999 damaging weapons. Gengi glove and offering. make sure your charaters can do 9999 damage. maybe try in the 90's in your levels. then if the character isn't dead when you face Kefka. use him/her t+ attack kefka. and it will deal 9999 x 8 and dead in one hit.. or 8 hits.. what ever you may prefer. try it, it works. -------------------- |

I think I've used a morphed Terra with the Illumina and Excalibur. Personally, I find it to be really pathetic for the final boss to be able to be killed in one hit. That doesn't mean it isn't fun. (In the game, not in real life) I enjoy toying with things that are weaker than me.

Yes, try it, though it's certainly cooler when one does it with two "Atma Weapon" swords.

Atma Weapon can't be thrown, and it wouldn't kill Kefka in one shot anyway. It's only a rumor.

Like Atma (the member, not the beast) said, you can Morph Terra if you want to kill Kefka in one turn at a lower level. (IIRC, Moprhing makes her attack x2 and her Magic Attack x4, or maybe the other way around)
Personally, I say the fight with Kefka was fun, but it could have stood to be a lot harder. -------------------- Wow. 1,000 posts. I miss you all now that I'm in boarding school! ;_; |

It's getting rather foggy here if l)arkshadow and Sephiroth are talking about Throwing that Atma Weapon or not. Screw it out of your head, folks. If ZED's word isn't enough (and it should be), then let me say this:
The Atma Weapon cannot be thrown. Making it throwable will make for a powerful attack, comparable to Throwing the Imp Halbard. On a decent level, it will do 9999 damage. No single attack can do more then 9999 damage. If it had worked, there would've been something in Kefka' Command Script that countered the Atma Weapon by his own death. This is not the case. It's covered from all angles. It can't be done; and if it could, it won't work. Give this rumor a rest. It's persistent, aye, but maintained by liars. -------------------- |

Djibriel is right, there is no way to 1) throw the Atma Weapon, and 2) kill Kefka in one hit with it.

Quote (Magicite @ 25th June 2004 01:38) You can kill him with one character’s turn (Celes, Edgar, Terra, or Locke) if you have Genji Glove, Offering, Atma Weapon, and Illumina equipped. If you’re at a high enough level, you will do 8 hits of 9,999 damage, which is more than Kefka has. I’ve done this several times. If you didn't see i already mention this in the first post. i used celese to do it. i was WTF when her attacked finished and he died. I have Shadow throw the Atma weapon and if that for some reason doesn't work; Cyan is equipped with the Genji Glove, Sky Render,Scimitar. Everyone else casts Ultima.
Moderator Edit And since throwing the Atma Weapon absolutely doesn't work, it's good that you put in a second way. ![]() This post has been edited by Rangers51 on 5th July 2004 08:33 -------------------- "When the clouds darken and things look their darkest, you just have to throw up your arms and say: OK, because it's probably going to get a helluva lot worse." |

Maybe my characters are just strong, but i throw my excess amounts of Forks at him, and get 9999 damage per. I did that, + celes equipped with an Atma, Illumina, and Off/Gengi combo. 3 attacks, Also used Cyan with SwdTech7- I don't remember what he had, but i don't use him.

um... just to set the record straight..... the rumor that involves killing kefka with one hit by throwing a sword..... it's not the atma weapon... it's the illumina (bet the ragnarock sword at the collisium).... supposedly if you through the illumina (not atma weapon) you can do insurmountable damage to kefka.... however i have never tryed it since i prefer more of a challenge..... i just ultima him till he dies.... easy as pie

Quote (Zechs @ 17th July 2004 17:52) the rumor that involves killing kefka with one hit by throwing a sword..... it's not the atma weapon Atma Weapon is what the rumor states. The Illumina may be just a far less famous variant made for people who notice the Atma Weapon can't be thrown. Of course, there's no truth to it at all. Final Kefka has no code dealing with Throw specifically in any situation. EDIT: Or any weapon in particular, for that matter. what extcally is his final form is he like a fallen angel in that form or what? i never quite understood about that the first time i saw him. some one care to explaine that one. Zed i dont mean to nag on you but isnt it kinda cheating looking at the code and like i have stated befor how do you know that some things that are really hidden in the just arent incripted to the point they remain hidden.

He's a god. As mentioned here, his final form is most likely based off the image of Lucifer which, well...makes sense.
Also, the game's been hacked thoroughly by many, many people over the past few years, so there's a very slim chance there's anything left that hasn't been found. In fact, I'd wager that there isn't anything that remains hidden at all. -------------------- Words of Wisdom: If something can go wrong, it will. If anything simply cannot go wrong, it will anyway. At the end of the day, even if the game code were somehow obfuscated/encrypted, there would need to be code to convert it back in order for the SNES to execute it. It would have been quite possible to find that code and run through its execution. Quite apart from which, encrypting it would be the most enormous waste of effort and resources imaginable.

How about Quick/Echo Screen/Joker Doom? It's basically not a one-hit KO (because as far as I can see, that's not possible), but it's a one-turn KO, which serves pretty much the same purpose. And since it doesn't depend on damage, you can pull this off at all levels.
Edit Edit 1: I just realized that the specific intro (the fading in of the characters) might have an effect on the RNG. Hang on a sec; I'm checking it now) Edit 2: (insert obscenity here) It does. Also, I don't know if the RNG modifications of the previous three battles count. So unless Zed would be kind enough to have a look at this for us, Joker Doom may or may not be a possibility in this context. The RNG index is saved between battles during the finale, so you're forced to keep track of the RNG index and then modify accordingly during the third battle, which is risky given Sleep's Meteo (at least) uses Slot's RNG (may want to Rasp away his MP first). Kefka's intro doesn't modify it however, so 7-7-7 could knock out Kefka in one hit if the RNG index is set to allow Joker Doom from the beginning of the battle (and even if it did, you'd just need to set the RNG index up so that the intro would make Joker Doom possible).

I see. With that being said, Quick/Echo Screen/Joker Doom (and if being smart, just Joker Doom) might not be the handiest of options (since calculating this is a pain, not to mention the fact that you'd have to avoid using Throw and Fight (and Jump?) because the effect of these graphics are unknown to the world), but hard/difficult or not, it's a possibility.

So... wait a minute. If you use an Echo Screen on Kefka and then use Joker Doom on him, the Doom will actually work?
Oh yeah, and the CoN guide says Kefka has 62,000 HP, so then Shinrin's plan must work. This post has been edited by Ejoty on 21st July 2004 00:52 -------------------- Get me off this Disciplinary Committee so I can play any FF except for FF8!!! |
