Just finished Super Metroid and Metroid 2 on a mini-kick of the series. I'd like to play through the original sometime, I've never even touched it.
Now all of my time will be spent on Starcraft 2. Forever. -------------------- Hey, put the cellphone down for a while In the night there is something wild Can you hear it breathing? And hey, put the laptop down for a while In the night there is something wild I feel it, it's leaving me |

Speaking of Metroid, I recently finished "Isometroid".
By that I mean Scurge: Hive, a game with enough similarities to Metroid that it was given that nickname. And yes there are a lot of similarities, as various elements seem drawn mostly from Prime and Fusion. But there are also many differences, the biggest ones being the isometric perspective (think up being up, and left/right being turned 45 degrees)--which makes for some interesting platforming action--and the rock-paper-scissors weapons system. Fire super-affects biological things but powers up electronic things; electricity, electronic things, energy things; and the "dissipator", energy things, biological things. Score by Jake "virt' Hoffman. Not his magnum opus in my opinion, but still pretty decent. I think the best tracks are the Deadlands and Industrial tracks. -------------------- Check the "What games are you playing at the moment?" thread for updates on what I've been playing. I've been playing some Skies of Arcadia lately, but I recently took a break to play Lunar Silver Star Story, which I just ordered from online. It's actually a very fun game, with a feel a bit along the lines of Grandia in that it's pretty lighthearted. It's just so darn fun!
And, best sewer level music ever. And as members of an RPG site, I think we all know how much sewer level music there is out there to be competing against. -------------------- Currently Playing : Final Fantasy V Most Recently Beat : Elder Scrolls: Skyrim Favorite Game : Final Fantasy X The newest CoNcast is up! If it gives you a Grandia vibe, it's probably because it's made by Game Arts, the Grandia people. Lunar and Grandia are basically their two signature series. And I dunno, I've always been partial to the sewer music from CT, even though it's used in several dungeons. ...And so I'm still on this topic, I've been playing a little FFT: War of the Lions with El Panachino, and a LOT of Dragon Quest IX grotto grinding. Sometimes both at once. -------------------- |

Monster Hunter Freedom: Unite. . . I've been playing so much of it, especially now that I can use Ad-Hoc party to play with others.
As Laszlow mentioned, I've also been playing War of the Lions online. I even have a character named Laszlow who is a Geomancer at the moment, but will be a Samurai as soon as I get some katanas. -------------------- Wha? Thanks to me? |

I bought Bioshock whilst on tour for £14.99 for my PS3. Cracking game but it does scare the shit out of me, in terms of people jumping out at me and making a lot of noise. I got about halfway through I'm giving it a break.
Since then I picked up Little Big Planet for £12.99 and beat the story on that which was great fun, the online is also really good. Then I got GTAIV out which I hadn't played in ages, gave that a few long days and got through that aswell. Only signed up on the Playstation Network a couple of weeks ago so all these online options are very exciting. |

I'm playing the Scott Pilgrim game (by myself because I have no RL friends) and it's really great. I'm also gearing down to play through limbo a third time and hopefully get the <5 death achievement. If I don't get it this time I'll probably give up. I'm considering getting Monday Night Combat afterwards due to the hype. If anyone's played it I'd love to hear your thoughts. Like a lot of other people I don't have as much time for full retail games anymore so I download a lot of them.
I finished the SCII campaign a few days ago and am doing challenges trying to make hotkeying into a habit before doing some practice rounds and ultimately my placement rounds. Basically, as long as I don't place into copper I'll be proud of myself. -------------------- "We're not tools of the government or anyone else. Hot dang, Lyn is a glass cannon. She has the Mani Katti, which does nice damage, and she can use 2x attack (I still haven't figured out what lets me do that), but with only 18 HP on her, one of those bandit bosses beat her down to 2 in one hit from a steel axe. That was nasty.
Yeah, they weren't kidding about an axe having high damage. Edit lol pun, "hot dang". Yeah, she's also pretty hot. You use a double attack if your agility is more than double the opponent's agility. In a few other FE games multi-attacks are special critical hits.

Why the mention? Because answers question in topic of thread.
![]() So do you get triple and x-tuple attacks if you have 3x or Xx the agility of the opponent? I finished the first Mass Effect last week, and I'm now replaying it to max levels on my female Shepard, at which point I'll probably do a quick playthrough with a male renegade Shepard just to see the differences. Other than that, Grand Theft Auto IV multiplayer with footbigmike and Tiddles ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2pXi6Obo3ag ) and FIFA 10 as I try to complete my first manager stretch so I can take my created pro back in Be a Pro mode.

The best you can do is two attacks in FE 7. The Meteor Strike ability in Seisen no Keifu and I think a few of the later games turns critical hits into 5x strikes, though. I was asking because you made no indication of what game you were playing in your post, and in fact didn't answer the question in the thread topic ![]() This post has been edited by laszlow on 26th August 2010 20:11 -------------------- |

I figured as much, but it's more misleading and annoying than actually funny, IMO....
Anywho, right now I'm playing Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time and some assorted The World Ends With You. I *love* ACiT, and I'll probably play it again in Challenge Mode right when I'm finished. TWEWY is... strange. Not 100% sure I like it yet. -------------------- |

Follow-up: I seem to be liking the Scurge: Hive soundtrack quite a bit. Most notably the Deadlands, Industrial, and Mines themes, as well as the Cyclops and Heimdall boss themes.
The Heimdall boss theme's loop is too short. If only it were longer. I like how it switches between "1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and" and "1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8" rhythms. I might try hard mode later, but I've heard it's quite difficult. I feel like I'm more in the mood for a hard JRPG or SRPG, though. I'm behind everyone on what's new and cool in gaming but I figured I'd post anyway. I just started FFXIII on Saturday and I have to say that I'm enjoying it. It's not quite as catchy and gripping as other FF games have been for me but so far it's good. I'm playing it on a PS3 on an HDTV so it looks amazing. I'd never seen anything on any of the new systems before and I'm quite surprised at how far the technology has come.
Anyway, my thoughts on the game so far: The storyline is intriguing. I'm interested in seeing it progress, particularly seeing the actual true nature of Pulse and it's reality in the world rather than what the government of Cocoon has led its citizens to believe. It's kind of cool seeing a female take the actual main lead in an FF game. I think the last time we saw anything even close to that was Celes in FFVI and no X-2 doesn't count. Yuna in X was important but we know it was mostly about Tidus's perspective. I did have one regrettable thought about the game. It's so much more "science fiction" rather than fantasy this time and that's slightly disappointing because I'm not much of a science fiction type of person. I am definitely more castles and magic than I am technology and aliens. My next two games I will be sampling when they come from gamefly will be Dragon Age and Eternal Sonata. So I'll probably say more when I get some time in with those. -------------------- Chewbekah ^_^ Currently Playing: Final Fantasy XIV: ARR, Attack of the Firday Monsters, Animal Crossing: A New Leaf, Lego City Undercover, Kingdom Hearts 1.5 Remix Recently Finished: Fire Emblem: Awakening Favorite Game: Suikoden III |

I recently purchased a lot of GameCube era Resident Evil games, and I forgot how addicted I was to these when they came out. Resident Evil: Remake, Resident Evil Zero, and the subsequent ports of 2, 3, and Code Veronica X. Well, mainly the former two because the pre-rendered environments were just stunning, even 8 years later, but the inclusion of the Crimson Heads in the remake were actually a little freaky for me, and I get scared by hardly anything video game or movie related. REliving (yes, I know, not very clever) my past enjoyment with these games in the coming weeks should be fun.

I've recently gotten back into my MUD which I've been on and off about for about 6 years. I'll go through phases where I play constantly, then trickle down til I drop it. I might stick with it this time, who knows?
At a friends house I've been moseying my way through Fallout 3 and Oblivion though in addition to screwing around with some old games from my childhood (Uncharted Waters- a pretty damn good sailing/exploration/trading RPG for the SNES) and the ever classic Castlevania IV. -------------------- If you've been mod-o-fied, It's an illusion, and you're in-between.
