For someone like me, there's no better way to spend your warm, summer days than sitting in your room with the curtains shut marking up some remarkably dark website layout.

Hence, I present you with the Digitiser style, selectable from the style page, which becomes the first original selectable style.  I guess some of you will like it, and some of you won't, especially if you have a dark monitor and/or a lot of glare.  Let me know what you think.

Digitizer reminds me of the Polycount layout...which I liked...and I've got it set to this new skin right now. ^_^

Top marks from me, Tiddles.  I don't think we can thank you enough for all the great work you do for the site.

I love it so much.  Next step is to make a new forums skin to match :)

You are a god, Tiddles.

One problem though, my mouse scroller doesn't work in the CoN3 design, I hope it's just me.  :(

Very nice. I think I'll try it out a bit.

The picture of the actual "Caves of Narshe" in the upper left hand corner was a nice touch.

There'll probably be a forum skin for this, and probably one of the "Arch" styles, in the relatively near future.  We're working on a couple of things leading in that direction.

To add to the excitement(!!!!!!) you get a different screenshot when the page is marked as belonging to one of the game subsections, i.e. there's one for FF4, one for FF5, etc.  Some of the shots are better than others.  I think the FF6 one worked best.

Scrolling in CoN3 seems to be a problem with both of the useragents I've tried (Mozilla 1.x and Opera 7.x) that support that fake-frames page style.  You could always submit something to Bugzilla and see what happens.  I'm not sure if the behaviour is by design or not, and if so, I think it's a bit silly.  If you hover over an iframe somewhere (eg the stores bit of any Stores/Maps page) and move back into the main "frame", it scrolls with the wheel for some reason.

Or, you can spoof your useragent as IE6 and get the flat IE version of the page, which will scroll normally.  I'll try to make a manual selection thing for this at some point.

But then, did anyone have a scrollwheel in the days of CoN3?  I know I didn't.  It's properly retro.  :)

Thanks for your comments, all.

I know I'm late posting, but I really like the skin that you made. It's über cool. I really like it. Yeah. I'm repeating myself.

I see, guess Mozilla isn't as perfect as I tell everyone it is >_> . No worries, as long as you know there's a problem it's all good.

I see, guess Mozilla isn't as perfect as I tell everyone it is >_> .

Still ahead of the competition, except maybe Opera 7, which of course isn't free.  Those two are the only browsers I've seen yet that support the way CoN3 is supposed to look, though IE5 Mac should get it right too I believe.  It's incredibly frustrating that the superior Mac IE is apparently getting canned while the rubbish Windows IE drags itself on, leaving a disgusting green slime over any site trying to use fancy CSS positioning.

The irony of the oldest style design available requiring the latest browser technology isn't lost on me, though.

Gentle viewers, I plead with you again, a Mozilla based browser (some of the more common variants are listed on the About page) is the best way to view the site.  It's lucky that the Digi style can support all kinds of browsers pretty easily, but, while you'll always be able to view the full site in IE and other poor efforts, there's no guarantee all the styles will work.  Indeed, I believe there's some IE5 bustage on everything but CoN5 and Digi as it is.  It's very difficult for me to test on IE5, and then even more so to apply hacks for it.  Help a coder out, eh?  Try out something better.  You'll love the popup blocking, too.

That said, if you do use IE5, Digi should be one of our better-rendering style choices.  Even more so for Konqueror, which certainly used to have bizarre problems with the CoN5 style... I'm hoping these are now anyway, but if things continue to go awry, try the new style.
