Final Fantasy Tactics Walkthrough
Vormav clearly feels that his victory is at hand, and has decided to further abuse Ramza as a parting shot before meeting his ultimate goal.
Chapel of St. Murond Temple
This battle, unexpected and sad, is certainly the last thing Ramza would like to take on. Of course, by now it's quite clear that as in so many things, the choice to fight here, regardless of the outcome, is not his.
Vormav has pulled Zalbag from whatever limbo he was sent by the fall of his brother Dycedarg, and now Vormav has manipulated Zalbag's body into attacking Ramza.
Fortunately, this battle is very easy if you prepare for it properly, and serves more for the emotional impact than as a block against progression. Use Holy Explosion, Lightning Stab, and Holy, and Zalbag won't last but a couple rounds. Don't worry about the cronies, as they are slow and likely won't cause enough damage to be a problem while you attack from range. As mentioned last chapter, having
108 Gems on as many of your party as possible is important, as Zalbag will use the same vampiric ability as Elmdor to capture your party if possible. If you don't have enough
108 Gems to equip the whole party - though you should by now - prioritize your healer, followed by Ramza and then your most potent attackers. If you end up needing to heal that status,
Holy Water is your go-to.
After the battle, Ramza discovers the dying Funeral who tells him that Alma has been taken by the enemy to Orbonne.
