Final Fantasy Tactics Walkthrough
Your next stop is Mullonde Cathedral to chase after Folmarv and Alma. Inside the Church, Folmarv is executing yet another betrayal, this time against Marcel, decapitating the Church of Glabados now that it no longer serves his goals in acquiring the stones. Since Ramza currently has most of them, anyway, having the Church hierarchy still alive is just another loose end, and we know by now that Folmarv cares not for those.
Marcel, bargaining for his life, tells Folmarv that the way to his ultimate goal is in Orbonne Monastery, but the way to get there is sealed, and the only way to break it is contained within the Scriptures, which are in Ramza's hands. (Note, it's interesting to know that Marcel seems to know all about this but still left the book in the stacks for Simon to find ages ago.)
Folmarv tells Marcel that he'll probably live because the wound isn't that deep, but after Folmarv leaves, Loffrey sticks a sword in Marcel's back and leaves him there to die.
Mullonde Cathedral
Back outside, you'll find that your path here is really easy if you give people Ignore Elevation. That way, those in front of the building can just jump right up and dispose of the White Mage and the Summoner right away, then work their way to the back of the building to meet up with the other crew. Once you've got the rest of the enemies surrounded, the battle will be over just like that. Orlandeau's really handy to have here because of his speed and his extreme power.
Absent Ignore Elevation, ranged attacks will speed the battle. The Orators will be problematic, particularly if you are not properly set up to avoid being turned traitor, but the relatively low speed of Summoners will make them less of a risk even if you have to take the long way to get them into range. Moving to the corner of the chapel quickly to take that ground before the Geomancers can clog it up will be helpful in that regard. Sending your units with ranged sword skills (Orlandeau, Meliadoul, Agrias) in the second party will allow them to quickly neutralize the rear guard and meet up with the rest of the group in the middle. Setting both groups up stage right of their formations will help cover the distance faster.
