Final Fantasy Tactics Walkthrough
You'll see a scene where Zalbaag is investigating what Loffrey told Dycedarg - that Mossfungus begins to grow outside a grave when it's a factor in a death. Zalbaag takes a Chemist to his father's grave to see if there's any Mossfungus growing there, and the Chemist confirms it, proving that Dycedarg was in on the plot to kill Barbaneth.
Eagrose Castle
How dare they change the amazingly botched translation of the objective for this abnormally boring battle. Zalbaag has finally come around to what Ramza tried to convince him long ago, and is furious at Dycedarg as the party enters Eagrose.
If you bring along Orlandeau and Agrias, they can hit Dycedarg from below and he'll be dead in a few rounds. If you're not using them, Holy is once more the magical answer to all your problems.
Early in the battle, the enemy will mostly focus on Zalbaag, giving you opportunity to largely get your units into place with less opposition. In this battle, an Archer might be handy, or a Chemist with one of your stolen guns. It shouldn't be too difficult to bring Dycedarg down from below and from range this way.
If you have no ranged attackers for this battle, first, shame on you. But second, make sure your melee attackers have high Move stats and speed so that they can cover the spiral path they'll need to follow as quickly as possible. It's likely that half of the knights will be moving to meet you halfway, but if you're in a hurry you should have enough space to maneuver around and past them to get to Dycedarg faster.
Dycedarg has some excellent equipment and does not have Safeguard, so if the opportunity arises you can take a shot at stealing some of it, or, if you just want to get through as quickly as possible, use Meliadoul or Orlandeau to destroy his
Defender straightaway.
This battle pivots directly into the next without a reset back to the formation screens.
