Limberry Castle Gates

This battle can be easier than it looks, despite the scary-looking monsters and the two assassins, who in your last encounter, probably beat you to within an inch of your life even when you won the battle. In this go-round, you need only take out one of the assassins, or even just bring them to critical condition. If you're using Orlandu, this should mean walking him up to the ledge and striking down the closest assassin in one hit. If you're not, bring someone with Holy, someone with Ignore Height, or someone that can hit them with a summon.

If you can do two or more of these things, the battle shouldn't be a problem, but finish things quickly or you'll find most of your party killed, poisoned, or (and?!) turned into frogs. You should feel free to equip accessories that prevent these debuffs on as many characters as you like, especially Ramza who will be the first target due to where he starts the battle. RingAngel Ring is a good choice to prevent instant KO (and to provide Reraise), HairbandBarettes and HairbandRibbons are good for your female characters, and Armlet108 Gems is a solid choice for anyone else to help prevent debuffs.

Again, if you're looking to move forward quickly, take some powerful units to immediately hammer the assassins. If you're looking to max out your game, though, prepare to weather the storm a bit and plan for this alert box below.

This is probably the best opportunity for Ramza to learn the Ultima spell if you want to try it out. Multiple enemies can use it, but Ramza can learn it, and he has to be in Squire class and be hit with it (and he can't be out of your control due to debuffs like confusion when it happens). In this battle, the assassins will tend to cast it if they can't use any of their other status debuff attacks on Ramza, and in this battle you have more time to work with and less pressure (particularly if you can take out the Apandas and get them out of the way).

Save your game in another slot, as there are more battles coming that could overwhelm your party to the point that you need an older save.
