When you enter Fort Besselat, you'll have a choice to attack either the North or South walls. Neither battle should be exceptionally difficult for your party, but there's a greater chance at the North side that you can get your party separated and require emergency healing; so, we'll cover the choice of going South first as the slightly easier path.

Fort Besselat: South Wall

This battle isn't too tough if your characters are leveled up nicely and can take enemies out quickly with a high damage-per-turn. You do start at a slight disadvantage, as all of the enemies have the high ground on you and the first turn is likely to involve your group taking a fair bit of ranged damage with less ability to reply in kind. Start by keeping the party stage right on the formation screen and keeping them together for the next turn or two, splitting them later to pursue the right side of the map.

Start by taking out the Ninja and the Thief, because their speed is high and they'll get a lot of attacks if you don't rid yourself of them quickly. After that, take out the Archers. The Knights won't be problematic because they're so far away and don't have any long-range attacks. If you just take out each enemy systematically, this battle will be easy, even though they have seven characters to your five.

In the chaos that ensues, Dycedarg decides to take advantage and Zalbaag is caught off guard.
