Any buffing that you chose to do for the previous sequence will now be erased, and you'll be back to your standard levels. This is unfortunate, because speed is absolutely of the essence here if you're going to have a chance at winning; frankly, the game is looking to abuse you here.

Riovanes Castle Roof

Here is where items like FootwearHermes Shoes and HatGreen Berets come in handy - you definitely want to get the jump on these enemies. Pay attention to your fastest characters, and put them in the back of the party selection screen before this battle, as the ones in the back will be the closest to the objective (another way that this battle wants to try to cheat you). If you do not have fast characters, or the ability to make your characters faster by putting them into fast classes and/or in fast equipment, you might not even get a turn in this battle.

Ninjas with high speed really come in handy here because they are really fast and can do heavy damage. The only thing you need to do to win this battle is put one of the three enemies into critical condition or to knock them out entirely. This sounds far easier than it actually is.

Celia and Lettie can stop and kill anyone with 100% accuracy (so if you have any equipment that can nullify those statuses, like ArmletJade Armlet or ClothesJujitsu Gi, consider using it), and Elmdore is quite powerful with Samurai Skills. Have someone there to back Rapha up with ItemX-Potions, and maybe even bring along someone with Holy to hit the enemy you're targeting from long range.

A character like Agrias really helps, especially with Hallowed Bolt, though she is slow by default and might need to be shifted to a quicker class with Equip Swords and her Holy Knight skills as a secondary to be useful.

This is tough but if your characters have high speed, you'll get the jump and you should be able to win. It takes a little luck, particularly in terms of what Rapha decides to do on her first turn, and the ability to disrupt the enemy by physically getting in between them and Rapha.

So ends chapter three, with the physically and emotionally draining Riovanes Castle in the rear view. It's becoming clear where the real danger lies, and Ramza will immediately set out in pursuit.
