Upon arrival at the Monastery, the group finds an injured Simon. It seems that the Knights Templar collecting the Auracites also knew of the stone hidden here and beat Ramza's crew to the site.

Ramza leaves Alma to care for Simon and tells them to hide as quickly as they can, and he also hands over the Auracites he already has for her safekeeping, with a warning to dispose of them rather than letting them fall into enemy hands, should things take a turn.

Monastery Vaults: Second Level

This battle throws a new complication at you - it's the first appearance of enemy Dragoons, and they have good terrain traversal and strong ranged attacks. The best way to deal with them is to use some sort of Mystic spell (or Mustadio ability) to stop them from moving or acting, then light them up from outside their range.

If you're using a Summoner, launch a powerful summon their way, but make sure that they won't move away from it in the time it takes to cast. Once the Dragoons have been handled, the rest of the battle is up to you. The Time Mages will be the biggest threat of the second line since the Chemist is unusually weak in this battle, but it doesn't matter how you handle them all if the Dragoons are out of the way.

Unfortunately, the Dragoons can take quite a bit of abuse and their two-tile attack radius with lances can quickly corner your characters in the tight confines of the upper area, so be prepared for the battle to start very slowly and require some healing. If you can hang back a little to allow the Dragoons into your envelope and trap them there, and survive the first couple turns, you should be able to manage without too much trouble.

This battle starts another uninterrupted sequence, so it's wise to save the game in a separate file.
