Lionel Castle

Spread your troops as far out as possible when beginning this battle, because he'll immediately cast a spell called Nightmare that will incapacitate everyone in its range with various status ailments, such as Doom, Sleep, or Stop. There's really only so much you can do to spread out in this tight map and also still be able to do some damage, but you can converge upon the demon between his turns.

The best thing you can do for this battle is to bring along someone that can cast Holy, because he's extremely weak to it - though, of course, this would require that you have leveled up someone as a Priest to a pretty significant degree. Mustadio and Agrias are both helpful due to their ranged attacks. Whatever you do, just keep hitting him. This battle is very much a damage-per-turn check for your party, because the more turns you allow, the more likely you're going to get characters hit with very bad statuses, and that will snowball quickly into a dead party.

Ninjas, Lancers, Monks, and Knights all perform well against him as pure melee units. Ninjas especially are very helpful if they have decent weapons, or if you can give one of your other melee units the Ninja's Two Swords ability; having two physical attacks per turn can help offset the close quarters.

After the battle, you'll get Draclau's Holy Stone. The scene will shift to Delita and Goltana. Delita has discovered a traitor among Delita's men, and the one who is most outspoken about it is the one that Delita points the finger to and kills.

This event is important because it establishes a link between Delita and Goltana and gives Goltana a reason to trust Delita. Delita wants Goltana to act quickly and they put Ovelia on the throne, the final trigger that starts the War of the Lions.

Conditions of the war are rapidly deteriorating but neither side is willing to negotiate an end to the combat.
