Multiplayer Rendezvous
One of the two multiplayer options for the PSP version of War of the Lions, Rendezvous is the cooperative combat gametype available in Taverns starting about midway through Chapter 1. For this mode, you will form a single team with each player contributing (up to) either two or three characters. Each player will control the characters that they contribute to the team to aim for the common team goal. Again, if you're playing War of the Lions but not on PSP, you can't do this mode - but after you complete the game, you can return to a Poacher's Den to buy the unique ones.
There are no restrictions on which fighters you can use, and battles will level accordingly with your parties, so your main methodology for overpowering the opponents is in judicious job selection and lots of excellent equipment - and working with your teammate to balance your team appropriately, of course.
Most of the Rendezvous encounters are a single battle, but two of them have multiple rounds through which to fight. In those cases, you don't get to restock or heal in between rounds, you just dive right back in. Make sure you have plenty of healing!
Rules
These battles operate more or less as simulations, meaning that very little of the outcomes of these battles is permanent for your party. The rules operate differently than Melee since you're not fighting a fellow human, but are generally similar. Generally speaking, anything you lose or use up, like consumable items, broken items, characters that are KOed and finish their countdown, will come back to you after the Rendezvous ends - if it's a multi-battle job, they will come back after the entire sequence is over. Additionally, items that you win or steal in the battles can be kept, but Gil can not. You can change Bravery and Faith, but the incremental permanent changes from normal battles will not persist in Rendezvous. Like in Melee, you can earn JP from these battles and keep it. Also like (an option) in Melee, Arithmeticks are shut off entirely. Undead enemies can respawn when their KO counters hit zero. Finally, any traps and found items on tiles that you might expect from seeing these maps in the main game will not be present for Rendezvous. If you have any questions about any other game mechanics that aren't addressed here, they likely follow similar rules to the ones already mentioned.
You will be rated after completing the battle - the rating goes from 1 to 5 stars and dictates how many rewards you get to open and the quality of them as well. Some items are only available in certain battles.
Battles
There are fourteen different battles to enter, but not all unlock immediately. The enemies are always the same when you enter a battle, but the levels of the opponents are typically based on average levels of your teams, or are a level fixed somewhere above your teams.
