That would be a toss-up between Lore and Rage: Lore offered an entire second repertoire of spells at your command, and Rage offered an even larger repertoire but not at your command. I like to have a diverse set of attack possibilities.

I would have to say Steal/Capture is my favourite ability. You get all sorts of neat items for free, and with Capture you hurt the enemy, as well as take its stuff.

Runners-up
Tools - Edgar's tools often own the scene
Blitz - Very cool Street Fighter-ish combos (Sabin = Guile?)
Lore - Blue Magic is awesome!
Shock - General Leo is very cool, and the move looks amazing and shows he is very powerful

Well Rage contains the most powerful single hit attack in the game and offers some other real nice spells that no other ability can offer. Plus the character associated with this ability makes it that much cooler. cool.gif

Runner-Ups
Blitz - Power and style
Tools - Insanely useful stuff throughout the game
Health - Free cure for your party = cool
Shock - Free attack against your opponents = cool

Later in the game, I dont use them at all. But early in the game they are a necessity. I would have to say 'Steal' and 'Blitz'. Stealing early on is important.

As he is probably my preffered fighter in the game, Id have to say Cyan's Swordtechs (specifically Quadra Slice ). The waiting might be a pain in the butt, but any single attack that lets you do well over 9999 at higer levels is definitely worth the wait......and i think his lack of speed lends itself well to the fact that you can time the attack after youve commanded your other characters.

Mimic! I have Gogo with Mimic, Magic, Blitz and Tools, but Mimic is his most useful. Say if a character uses a powerful Esper and it's really effective against my enemy, I can use the same Esper twice per battle providing Gogo's turn is next, or I skip other character's turns until it's his turn. That's useful with people like Umaro, Gau or Mog. You can't control them, so if they do a move which does a lot of damage like Umaro hurls a player at an enemy, (that's usually a good amount of damage with my Umaro) Gogo can copy it. The same with dances and rages, since you can't control Mog or Gau, whenever they DO happen to use an effective move, I can copy. biggrin.gif

Blitzes and Dances were runners ups. Who wouldn't like to harness the elements to do your bidding through the cool act of dancing?

I agree with GMH, a tie between lore and rage. Lore and rage give you larger amounts of spells. Gau had more, and they cost no mp, but Strago had some awesome spells (most notably bug guard and grand train) that you were able to control. It's a toss-up.

I would say that my favorite skill to use would be Setzer's SLOT command. I just always the risk involved in using it (heh, nothing like getting Lagomorph instead of dealing some nice damage to the enemy). Once you get decent at it, though, it can become a pretty reliable skill. Plus, Setzer is amazing.

As far as my favorite skill to use as far as practicality and usefulness, Locke's Steal/Capture command gets my vote. Equiping the Genji Glove and Thief Glove is quite a great combination when you want to steal but still deal some damage.

Since I am a big Locke fan I have to say Steal/Mug is my favorite no doubt. A close second is Edgars Tools ability not much can match those.

I liked Rage the most.
mostly because most of his rage have some of the best spells that the other characters can't use. (and even some spells that I won't get for a good while.

What do you consider the best character ability in the game?

I did not include Terra, Locke, Celes, or Cyan because their character abilities are useless without other abilities, such as Attack, or equipment, especially swords.

I must admit that I chose Strago, which is comical because Lore is very similar to Magic. Lore can heal your party and attack for much damage if your magic points are high, and this ability is character-controlled by you (as cited with the fourteen other characters in the game's ending). Shadow would be my second choice because his throw technique kicks major butt, although the ability is not much use once you run out of items, ha ha. Gau is my third choice.

After all, Strago is the most important character in the game because he is the oldest and has connections with the famed War of the Magi.

Control because it remove a enemy from the battle and you can use sometimes some cool attacks.

I would have to say that it's a tie for me between Blitz and Dance. Blitz is awesome because you can choose exactly what element to use or just do damage without dealing with the defense of a monster, and does a crapload of damage, to really make the case, two words: BUM RUSH. Dance is awesome because the animations are cool, the randomness can get exiciting in some close fights (will it heal me, do a little damage, or will it try a useless instant kill attempt on this boss?), the coolest thing about Dance: it's a MOOGLE DANCING IN THE MIDDLE OF A RAGING BATTLE, what can top that?

1) Shock! I might get tired of it if I got to use it regularly, but you've gotta love that effect.

2) Swordtechs. Quadra slash and Quadra Slice are a couple of my very favorite attacks, same with Cleave.

3) Steal- Not glamorous, but a great source of genji gloves and other little prizes.

I hate to tell you this, but the Presenter is actually vulnerable to instant kill attacks. In fact if you...

use Shoat, you will kill both parts of it, thus resulting in two Dragon Claws rather than just one.
