Final Fantasy Tactics A2 Gets a US Release Date
FFTA2 stars a hunter named Luso, who players of Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions may have already seen in a playable cameo role. FFTA2 also marks the fourth Square-Enix game as part of the Ivalice Alliance and the third to be released in the United States, after FFT: War of the Lions, FF XII: Revenant Wings, and the Japan-only FF XII International. Set those calendars and charge those DSes for June 24th.

I'm honestly excited for this game. FFTA itself was a bit too childish for me and very dumbed down considering it's namesake as a Tactics game but it was fun in it's own way in the end. There hasn't really been many good RPG/ strategy games on the DS. FFXII: Revenant Wings was fun and Luminous Arc was alright, though entirely too linear. I'm hoping this comes with a higher level of customizable stats/abilities and I'm curious to see what new classes are going to be included.

FFTA2 sounds like a more advanced version of Advance prequel, which i too agree it was great in its own right. It helped me appreciate the tactical final fantasies when i couldn't get much of anywhere in the original for the PS1. I can't wait to get my hands on an ivalice that is more closely tied to the other ivalice alliance games.

Try looking through the FFT forum for threads like these, since the news forum really has no bearing on what games you play. ![]() http://www.cavesofnarshe.com/forums/ipb/in...showtopic=11808

Quote (painreaver @ 24th March 2008 19:40) Never played an FF Tactics. Is FFTA worth getting? Or even FFT for PS if can find it? The biggest problem with FFTA is that in most cases, you're either in or out. Let me explain further: The job mechanics (and skill leveling) is very deviated in Tactics advance from that of the original Tactics. What I've noticed because of this, is everyone has an obvious favorite, so you'll either like Tactics, or Tactics Advance. But the person who ends up playing through both seems few and far between. I'm stoked about TA2, because I loved TA. But I got fed up with and stopped playing tactics. So definitely check out both Tactics and Tactics Advance, and then make your determination on whether you want to play TA2 from there. Personally, I'm glad that they're releasing a version for the DS. That sweet enough for me. ![]()

Love Tactics, liked TA in a different way. For me, Tactics>TA, but I think I like Luso more than Marche, so It'll be Tactics>TA2>TA...
