FF VII: AC's English Cast, Release Date Confirmed

Final Fantasy VII
The title says it all. You can see the full list here. Virtually every cast member from Kingdom Hearts 2 that portrayed an FF VII character has been recast in Advent Children. I say KH 2 rather than the original because Lance Bass (Sephiroth) and Mandy Moore (Aeris) declined to reprise their roles in the much-hyped and critcally acclaimed sequel, and have been replaced by George Newbern and Mena Suvari, respectively.

Also, the US release date was finally confirmed to be April 26th, 2006. The date is fairly concurrent with what Square-Enix had announced earlier this year. Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children will be a 2-disc set released to DVD and UMD and has an estimated price of around $26.85 at release.

Zeromus_X well, i'm glad lance bass is gone, not that he was a bad voice actor (for what he did) but he only did one character , in one fight, and seeing him do a major character that actually has to act, i would be laughing throughout the whole movie laugh.gif

mandy moore was a good voice actor though. but i do wonder why they left? no publicity? meh.

No-Name I was never interested in the "kingdom hearts" games, so i have no clue what to expect. I'm guessing it wont be that bad since they played them before. What do you think laszlow?

strikerbolt I say its about dang time they've found an english voice cast. On amazon.com it was expected to release sometime in 2010. Cheers!

laszlow Well, I'm not sure how many people knew this, but Advent Children also has what appears to be a concrete release date: April 26th, 2006. I made some edits to the newspost to reflect that.

Rujuken I'm also glad Lance won't be voicing Sephy. I don't think I could take having to listen to his attempts at sounding menacing like Sephiroth in the japanese version. Newbern is the guy that does Naraku's voice on Inuyasha, right? He should be able to do that pretty well.

One bullet dodged. Now I just have to hope they don't do something like severely alter the dialogue or change the sound track or something. I'm thinking thats fairly unlikely, but you never know.

Kane If Newbern is the guy that voices Naraku, then that should be quite an improvement over Lance. Good choice I'd say

Funny thing is that Naraku in the Japanese version of Inuyasha and Sephiroth in the Japanese version are done by the same guy also from what I remember.
I'm more worried about Kadaj's voice fitting right. I've never heard of the guy who plays his voice, but seeing as how Kadaj was probably the most important character in the movie (since the story was mainly about him) I hope that they get his right over all. I think it'll be hard to beat the voice they gave him in the Japanese version (for me anyway) considering it's exactly as I expected him to sound like before I ever saw the movie.
