Like any other hunt, keep hunting and moving on the story. Go talk to Montblanc, and eventualy the Belito hunt should appear. That's where you will find this deadly Banga. To fight Gilgamesh, 40-45 is perfect for 1st encounter. Second ecounter, well 48+. -------------------- PS3 tag: TipoDLuffy "...quite possibly the greatest game ever made" |

I was level 46 the 2nd time I fought Gilgamesh, and it wasn't easy, but I did it...
I would suggest being at a higher level then that, unless you like a challenge ![]() The fight lasted entirely too long at level 46... I do believe he is level 70 the 2nd time around, but you by no means have to be that high in order to kill him ![]() Gilgamesh appears in 5 different phases each time you fight him, you will know when a phase ends and a new phase starts because he will stop fighting for a moment and say something. During each Phase you can steal a different item from him... Fight 1: Phase 1) potion Phase 2) X potion Phase 3) 1000 or 2000 gil Phase 4) Genji Shield Phase 5) Genji Glove Fight 2: Phase 1, 2, and 3) X potion (I think) Phase 4) Genji Helm Phase 5) Genji Armor In other words, you have to steal from him multiple times during each fight in order to get all the Genji gear. -------------------- Quote <FrPhoenix[Around]> "Burgleburgleburgle" |

I thought you could only steal from him in only one of his different stages, so I missed pretty much everything except the Genji Armor, but whatever, is not like I don't have good stuff around the menu.

' Of course there is. Did you listen to Vossler's boss fight music?, it's the game's theme music. The esper music is awesome too, if only they were harder, and useful.
I was going to say Gilgamesh's, but that's FF5. This post has been edited by SaffireWeapon on 22nd February 2007 17:02 -------------------- PS3 tag: TipoDLuffy "...quite possibly the greatest game ever made" |

The espers are somewhat disappointing, but I rarely use summons/espers anyway.
Currently i'm trying to get back into barheim passage for "the Deserter's revenge" hunt, but I can't find the little cactoid you're supposed to be looking for around the easersand. The little prick is so hard to find I'm questioning looking into a guide. If I don't find him soon I'm just going to fight Gilgy. he's the only other hunt I have right now. -------------------- "Have you ever seen a baby do that before?" |

To find Dran, you're supposed to talk to Dantro's wife in front of their hut, then look behind the hut for a flower that says "Dran?". Examine it to take it back to the other cactoids. Then you can use the ferry between the villages for free, but there's other stuff to do before you get the key.

Whoa. So I had this game since Christmas but just popped it into my PS2 last Saturday. Man, this game rocks. SE really hasn't lost their touch. Current location:
Possible spoilers: highlight to view At first I thought the gambit system was gonna be a burden, but get a few more slots and targets and you can do some neat things with it. Summons are cool too, I couldn't have beaten that last boss without my new summon. The license system is good too, but I have a question. At this point my average party level is just below 20, and my license board is starting to fill up. But seriously, I already have licenses WAY ahead of the equipment that's available to me. Is that normal? I mean, my mage already has 6th level every type of magic as well as level 6 bows. Anyways, my usual party consists of Vaan, Baltheir, and Fran. Yeah, I'm a sucker for the original threes. Vaan is my equipment expert and tank, Balther's my ranged meele and tecknicks master, and Fran is my all-around mage. Super combo if you ask me. Just beat Vossler, I think his name was. Got the Dawn Shard and am getting ready to head out to that village where they know about magicite. Forgot what it was called. -------------------- "We're not tools of the government or anyone else. Well for whatever reason, I decided to use everyone, but i might start using just three people. Anyway, your set up is good Fallingheart, but you might want to have everyone with magic just in case.
And yes its normal to have lisences for weapons if you ask me. |

Zodiark can be defeated with a LVL. 54 party, it all really depends on your playing style. The fight with Zodiark isn't the hard part though, it's getting there without getting swamped by abysteel and hecteyes in the first half, and by necrofeinds in the second half. These monsters are level 68 I believe and most have roughly 20000 hp. Fighting Zodiark is tough, but doable. The fight is pretty easy at first, just make sure you have black masks and be ready to rez alot. Zokiark will use Darkja which has a chance to ko on hit, but with black masks if you survive it will heal you. This is the only real concern for the first half of the fight, but after zodiark reaches the halfway mark, it becomes a little tougher. It will put up a magick sheild and will eventually put up a paling. When the paling goes up, cast reflectga on your entire party or equip mirror mail and start casting non elemental spells on yourself, scourge works great as does scathe, but scathe takes a little longer to cast. Whew... I guess that about covers it, now you decide wether you are strong enough to survive this epic battle!

To Fallingheart...
You should make the top part of the license board your primary target, specialy the augments section (green). There's one augment in particular you should reach first than any other, and that's the 500+ HP augment, located in the Southwest part of the top board. Don't bother that much with the weapons and equipments, and accesories, you should activate them when you get the weapon for that license. It's always a good idea to have all your characters specialize in all kinds of magick, and it's pretty easy to manage since you only have to buy magicks once. All of the top license board should be a priority for all your characters, though, especially the augments. It's also best to have every character know magick (especially white magick) because you never know when they'll need it. But don't rush; it's normal (I think
![]() The lower license board is where you should focus more on specializing your characters. You have to buy new equipment for every character you want to equip, so there's not really any need to obtain every license on this board. Licensing a character for a weapon you don't want to buy for them is a total waste. -------------------- Those who don't learn from history are doomed to repeat it. Has anyone thought of playing the Enforced Class Challenge? I'm thinking of giving it a go once I finish the game.. whenver that will be since I'm going for completion (although I've already screwed up my chances of getting the Zodiac Spear... stupid chests).

I think you can get Hastega and Cleanse at Balfonheim, but I'm not sure. As for Renew, you can only get it from the merchant near the teleport crystal in the Westersand.
