wow, that trick is working beautifully, I am now level 50 and have almost the entire liscense board mastered with everyone (the top is mastered and about 3/5 of the bottom for everyone). I'm going to use it to get to level 60 and then I'm going to go do a bunch of sidequests and acquire the most powerful weapons.

I think I ruined my chances of getting the Barheim Key, damn it.
I hope not. In order to get this key I have to complete a series of events that involves Dantro, the guy in the Dalmasca Estersand outpost, and his wife up in the South Bank of the river. In the end, she asks for a 'Great Serpentskin', which can be obtained by completing the 'Marilith' hunt in the Lhusu Mines. The thing is, I sold this piece of loot a long time ago. Is it posible to get this key anyway, or do I need the 'Great Serpentskin'? Can this item be found anywhere else? or did I ruined my chance of getting the 'Barheim Key'? IIRC, you don't need the skin. It just gives you an extra item at the end. And it's nothing too impressive.
![]() Don't worry, you'll still get the key. It's the whole point of that little side-quest anyhow. Don't do like me and just gather one of each item she asks for or you'll get crappy stuff, though. ![]() -------------------- "Judge not a man by his thoughts and words, but by the quality and quantity of liquor in his possession and the likelyhood of him sharing." |

Yeah I know. I was reading about that before I started doing the mission. I already delivered her 5 of the first item she asks for, and delievered about three of the ones you get in the ravines up near the end of the Estersands. I'm almost finish with that, then I will start investigating the Barheim Passage to find Zalera, but before that, I will try and find the DEATHBRINGER located in the treasure chest in the Feywood. I have to teleport to Giruvegan and apply the same method I did to get the DEMONSBANE in the Tomb of Raithwall. Quit and load if I don't get the sword.
Well, here I go! Anyone who has fought Gilgamesh, did you you enjoy this fight? IMO, it was awesome. All the nostalgia that came whenever he pulled out a new sword, and the music, so clasic! Quite frankly that must've been the best fight in the game so far.
It being such a challenge (during the second part at least) made it all the more amusing. I thought it'd be a walk in the park after the first bit ("LOL, is that it?") but then I ran into crazy stuff in the lower reaches of the caves and whew, five seconds into the fight and most of my party had been decimated. :S Great fight. -------------------- "Judge not a man by his thoughts and words, but by the quality and quantity of liquor in his possession and the likelyhood of him sharing." |

I need some advice. I've joined the Hunt Club, but I'll need advice on who to give my Trophies to. Would you guys suggest the Bangaa that gives the weapons, armor, or sundries? I'm leaning toward armor guy now...

The three bangaas are Atak, Blok, and Stok. The prizes are:
Atak wins: Greataxe (+101 Attack) Blok wins: Renewing Morion (Headgear, Equip: Regen) Stok wins: Sage's Ring (Absorb Holy, cuts MP costs in half) -------------------- Those who don't learn from history are doomed to repeat it. The same holds true for the rest of your classes. |

I'd go with Stok. Why?, well, you will get better weapons later, and I'm doing just fine with Curaja and/or Regen.

I'm seeing a lot of people here who say the characters in their party are levels 50 and up. I just feel like letting you guys know that you're well fit for completing the game. But make sure your characters are all outfitted with the best weapons and armor available.
Possible spoilers: highlight to view After you exit the Pharos at Ridorana is the perfect time to bulk up. But note that there are some magicks, technicks, and even armor that can't be found at common merchants. --Near the Teleport Crystal in the Westersand, there is a merchant with a chocobo. He may not stand out, but he's the only merchant in the game who sells Renew, the ultimate white magick that completely restores all of your characters' HP. --Anyone who's been to the Necrohol of Nabudis knows that that place is no laughing matter. There are many secrets hidden there, but among them is a hidden merchant in a secret room in the northwest corner of the Hall of Effulgent Light. Search the southeast corner of the room to find the Baknamy Merchant, who sells insane armors and even the magick Scathe and the technick Telekinesis. Make sure you have a ton of money before you shop there. =) Also, having Bubble Belts on all your characters helps. They're expensive, but after Ridorana, there's really no point in saving your gil. -------------------- Those who don't learn from history are doomed to repeat it. Hey Teh ChOCOBO
Thanks for the info about where to find Renew, but I just can't find thehidden merchant in the Necrohol. Okay, I go to the northwest area of the place you say he is located, but all I find is a hiden room with a treasure chest mosnter called 'Pandora', and no merchan in sight. Is he invisible? Yes, he's invisible until you find him. You pretty much have to be pressing against the corner to the left of Pandora, then an "!!" action icon appears.

(which is still pretty ridiculous) And if it is evasion, your katana user (if you have one) would be better of with the genji gauntlets, and a greatsword user would make good use of the cat-ear hood. The speed factor indeed improves damage for speed damage factored weapons (Daggers etc). Though, the +50 speed sounds like an insane increase but I was a bit disappointed. Fast weapons are even faster, but if you have a slow weapon like a Gun, it is still slow. The main problem is the actual queue time, especially with spells. The bar goes up super quickly, but it takes 3 seconds or whatever while the spell is building up so that's fairly annoying. You can get the Cat Ear Hood after 28 Hunts (Can't remember the Clan rank name) from the Muthru Bazaar. -------------------- The clouds ran away, opened up the sky And one by one I watched every constellation die And there I was frozen, standing in my backyard Face to face, eye to eye, staring at the last star I should've known, walked all the way home To find that she wasn't here, I'm still all alone -Atmosphere "Always Coming Back Home to You" |
