Ok so time slips away when playing games (well it does for me) you think you have only been playing a game for about 10 minutes when you rwelise its been an hour or two so what the longest amount of time you have spent on one game file not on the game in general just the one file preferably from an RPG since most of those show the amount of time.

My most is spent on FFX-156 hours and Star Ocean till end of time-173 hours
other then that i dont have exact numbers but i spent many hours bashing away at others in fighting games mostly Street Fgihter (KEN!!) and Tekken. and then there is the classic crash bandicoot 3(warped).

So whats your longest file.

Hmm, good question. I'd say FFT, since I'm pretty sure I still have a 150-hr. file somewhere, but I know my Disgaea file is clocked in at 220+ AT LEAST, and that was two summers ago. Yes, the "Summer of Disgaea" I called it -- played it almost day and night and then quit playing it for...ever. tongue.gif

I wouldn't doubt if one of my FFT levels is higher, but I sometimes erase old ones to make space for other PSX files -- casualties of the twelve-slot memory cards.

It might pain me to admit this, but I'm pretty sure that my old copy of Pokemon Gold had around 130 hours at least.

Still, I think my longest file might be FF Tactics. I have one that's also around 130, but I'm not sure if it was longer than Pokemon or not.

But one of the current co-presidents of the UVA Gamers' Club has everyone here beat. His Advance Wars DS file has 415 hours on it, as of the end of August. And it's only been out for around a year, for chrissakes.

Hands down it has to FFT, with a massive 330 hours invested in this masterwork.

Second Place Star Ocean TTEOT with 214
Star Ocean 2 with 211
and Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind and Star Wars KOTOR tied at ~195

Four years ago, I had a FFT file which I spent around 250hours on it... but because of some "mega" memory card crap, I lsot it and I had to go through the game again. The thing is that it doesn't take me 250h anymore to get everything. tongue.gif

Well, that's nothing compared to the total 3000+ hours I spent playing the game (killing time... and enemies).

I'm having hard time to play games anymore so I could say that FFT had my official highest time played game file.

Guessing off the top of my head:

Star Ocean: Till the End of Time with around 120 hours on it, with everything completed on Galaxy (normal) difficulty.

Dragon Quest VIII with around 80 hours, only beat a few of the bonus boss dragons.

I think somewhere around 200/225 on FFT.

FFX was somewhere in the two hundred hour range, so that might be the biggest amount of time I've spent on one game... technically.

If you were to count the entire .hack series (Infection through Quarantine) as one game, then that would be my longest at 447:26:59 (I loaded Quarantine to see what the time was, I couldn't remember). 1/4 of this can be attributed to the fact that I loved the series, but couldn't find Outbreak, so I killed over 100 hours on meaningless quests after the end of Mutation (trying to max out GP, collecting Summon scrolls and such). I made sure not to overlevel by allowing EXP drops from Data Drain backfires, instead of resetting like I normally would have.

'course, that didn't keep the difficulty of the second half of the series where it should have been, as I ended up mastering the gameplay throughout the many "sidequests" I went on. Thankfully, I was also in it for the story, as there wouldn't have been any value in beating Quarantine otherwise. But hey, it's not like that mastery thing was all bad; I did manage to net an Infection record sometime afterward. tongue.gif

I think it was Dragon Quest VIII at around 80-90 hours.

I usually end up with game files at least 10-20 hours longer than they should be because I"ll stop and get up to do something else for 10 minutes and then come back, or I"ll get lost on the map or in a dungeon, "leveling up time".

However long it took me to get everyone on my Chrono Trigger cart (still have it!) to level "double star" with all "double star stats" (power, speed, magic, etc) maximum HP/MP, at least one copy of every weapon, armor, and accessory, maximum items, and every ending possible.

My guesstimate would be around 100 hours, but feel free to correct me if I'm off.

I've spent so many hours on Metal Gear Solid 3 it's not funny. I would guess in the lower 200 range if you combined all my playthroughs together.

I'll try and name all the variations I've gone for:

- First playthrough (nothing special here)
- Kerotan Frog playthrough (this one's probably the longest)
- No kill playthrough (this one's really long too)
- Marklav playthrough (Or however you spell that, it's the one hwre you have to get every type of food)
- Multiple attempts at Big Boss playthroughs (around 5, but none of them were very long because of the speed required)
- Completionist playthrough (This is kind of like a Marklav playthrough only this time I made sure to get every type of camo and item)
- MGS3S playthrough (I played through the game again regularly with the new camera style in the Subsistence verion)

Yeah, that's a lot of time for one game. It's a good thing I really love that game.

If we're talking about one save file, probably Star Ocean 3 in that case. Just cause that game was plain long.

Madden 05 or FFT would be mine. I went to the Madden Challenge in Atlanta in 05, so I practiced that thing like it was a religion.

FFT.... Gos, over the years, there's no telling how much time I've wasted in front of a screen playing that.

FFX. For a game I didn't enjoy terribly much, I sure did play it a long time. Managed to eek out 90 hours and 22 minutes on my last save.

Next would be Dragon Quest 8 at ~80hrs, FFVI at ~65hrs, FFIV at ~60hrs, Ookami at ~60hrs, and FFV at ~50hrs.

A game that gets an honorable mention is GTA:SA. I've easily logged in 100+hrs in that game, but I seldom save afterwards.

fft i had a savefile well above 100 hours. i don't recall the exact time, but that data was erased long ago. my "current" fft save, which actually i have been messing around with occasionally is somewhere at the ~130 mark. my ffx was 180. ff7 i've maxed the clock out on two seperate savefiles, but to be fair, the second of the two was accidentally left on overnight a few times.

edit: well, those are the single-player games. fighting games -- sc2 and tag especially -- i've easily logged weeks of playtime.

On FFX I have about 105 hours and about 60 of those hours are just blitzball.
Radiata Stories-somewhere 185 hours.
Front Mission 3- 100+ hours
My highest is on Pokemon Gold with a wonderful 300+ hours! Too bad I sold the game...All that hard work down the drain! :'(

The longest I've spent on games is nothing compared to most of you. You all humble me. *bows in respect* My three longest files are 112 hours on FFX-2, 114 hours on FFVIII, and my timer stopped on FFVI. I'll be truthful: with FFVI, it's mostly because I accidently fell asleep while playing (once, I accidently got "Annihilated" because of it blush.gif ).

Pokemon Silver Version - 235 hours played.
Pokemon Ruby Version - 128 hours played.
Final Fantasy 9 - 110 hours played.
Final Fantasy 7 99+ (?) hours played. (The clock stopped at 99:59 blink.gif )

The reason Silver version is so high, is because when I was in 7th grade, I was grounded from everything except my gameboy. (Well I was still grounded from that, but I lied to my mom and told her I lost it...) so I ended up playing it all the time.

Heh, same here. I didn't really care for FFX, but some how, I managed playing the game for 90 hours.

Hm. On a single character on a text-based online game, I put in just over 4000 hours... but I suppose that doesn't really count.

On Final Fantasy Tactics, my "master" file is at just over 520 hours... and I'm still well away from being complete. sad.gif Level down/upping sucks.

Get this . . . 307 hours on Pokemon Leaf Green with about 20 level 100's including all the legendries. I got so attached to the save file i cried after i ran over it (not really, how sad do you think i am?) (Do not answer that).
