Quote There's also a wierd bug which I believe involves the area Cloud mentioned which allows you to capture Mew, unless that's indeed what he's saying. actually when they were making the game they used the grassland outside of cerulean to test all pokemon battles, even the once intended mew. Thanks to game genie (the tool before game shark) with a certain code put in you can catch any pokemon you want there (within 1-151) really I only used it for mew and some extra eevees, my brother used it to get all 151, but I felt that was too easy. Mew was a beast, it could do large damage with surf, cut, fly, and dig (my bro made it an HM slave) my mew on the other hand was meant for battling. Mew has a pokedex and moves that he learns, caught at level 11-13(asll pokemon outside cerulean are) comes with transform and pound, has a habit to use transform, which results in a ditto when caught. -------------------- "Have you ever seen a baby do that before?" |

Wow! This has been quite a while! I'm actually torn between a few. For the longest time, my favorite was the all-powerful Psychic/Flying combo of Lugia. Seriously, Aeroblast is kickass! Then there's Salamence, one of the new ones. I don't have either of the Ruby or Sapphire games, but I know what he looks like and what he's capable of. Also, Scyther and Scizor have always been high on the list. Then there's good old Dragonair. I've always preferred Dragonair over Dragonite. The little antenna-looking things on Dragonite just don't work for me. Oh, and I can' forget Typhlosion and Lanturn. These two used to save my ass on Silver. In fact, I used Typhlosion to capture Lanturn when it was still a Chinchou at Level 40. (caught it with a Super Rod at Olivine) Lanturn was awesome. Water and Electric all at once. Also, his Spark had a pretty high rate of paralysis. Typhlosion always saved me on Silver, him and Lugia both. Typhlosion had an unstoppable setup of attacks: Earthquake, Cut, Thunderpunch, Flamethrower. My lugia was pretty tough, too: Aeroblast, Fly, Psychic, Hydro Pump. Yeah, I think I've finally decided that my favorite is Lugia, the mighty king of the sea, the power of Psychic and Flying Pokemon coming together as one.

unfortunately for me, I had gold and not silver - so i never got to experience Lugia. And I hated ho-oh. I thought it was almost identical to moltres, and not nearly as cool. (dunno why, but I just did)

He's also level 70 instead of level 40. -------------------- "You know that feeling you get when you're on a merry go 'round, and you want to jump off to make the spinning stop, but you know it'll suck when you land? Call me crazy, but I've always had a thing for Wigglytuff. It's such a tubbo, fat, angry vandal type. It's a Jigglypuff on steroids and is just fun to have around. I always waste a Moon Stone on the evolution, and try to get a Persian, too -- what can I say, I'm a cat lover. Time's made me forget some stuff about the games, but I always remember where to catch Jigglypuffs.
I'd have a few of 'em, and give a Body Slam+Sing+Dream Eater+Nightmare combo to one for kicks. They're like big beanbags...how could you not want one? -------------------- It's gonna be a glorious day I feel my luck can change |

Somehow, I always thought that Frieza looked a bit too much like Mewtwo in Dragonball Z Hyperdimension...
I should also mention that I'm a fan of dragonite, and mew. And persian isn't that highly desired of a pokémon--it's just a normal-type with better stats than meowth. Nothing too uncommon, unless you're playing red version and can't catch a meowth intrinsically. And no matter what else you do, NEVER, EVER, kick a magikarp. -------------------- Check the "What games are you playing at the moment?" thread for updates on what I've been playing. i didn't really like mewtwo, or mew for that matter. As far as asthetics go, I found Flareon to be the coolest looking, and when it also turned out to be awesomely strong (who didn't use an eevee evolution?) it only made it all the better. Never much cared for meowth/persian either. Wigglytuff, lol, it reminds me of my little sister. Chubby and angry, and a little out of touch.

Overall, my favorite pokemon would have to be Raichu, its fast, strong, and pretty handy and cool to keep around. My second favorite would have to be Wigglytuff, I usually keep it with three normal attacks and a psychic move, to cover its weakness. My third favorite would have to be Lanturn, very durable in battle, with the Confuse Ray/Thunder Wave combo, the opponent has only a small chance of attacking.
I usually get these pokemon in every version I play, and fortunately, most of the time they are usually available. This may not be the strongest team, but I play with favorites. -------------------- "...But we will succeed. We pride ourselves in making the impossible possible." |

Nothing too uncommon, unless you're playing red version and can't catch a meowth intrinsically. Actually that's completely wrong. Persian was one of the best pokemon in RBY, because back then pokemon had inherent critical hit bonuses, and Persian had some ludicrously high one. Tauros was a better pokemon then its stats indicated for the same reason. I went and bought Pokemon Emerald a week ago or so, because a middle school kid next door offered it to me for fifteen dollars (he needed Wii money). I've been playing it, and it's pretty good, but not as good as Gold/Silver, which was the one that really dominated my time. I've only gotten the first five badges, but right now I have to say I'm now a fan of Blaziken, Gardevoir, and Lairon. Kickass. -------------------- |

Dude, it's been so long...
My favourite of all time is Charmander. I loved him to pieces! I still have my Charmander pillow that I got multiple years ago and I even use it sometimes. I also like the dragons and cats, I have a thing for those whether they're in Pokémon or anything else. I also like fire types in general. I've had Blue, Yellow, Gold, Crystal, Ruby, and Fire Red and I stopped there. I guess that's every generation, isn't it? What I like most about Pokémon is how you can make your own team, call them whatever you want, and make them as crazy strong as you want. I like naming my Pokémon after characters on games I've played. I also had fun with the Missingno glitch. I don't know why, but I loved going and catching them and seeing what kind of screwy things they'd do to my game. My favorite types of Pokemon are Water, Ice and Psychic types, but I don't like the only Ice/Psychic combination(Smoochum/Jynx). I'm really looking forward to Pokemon Diamond/Pearl for the DS because of the Wi-Fi capabilities. I'd import a Japanese version, but I can't understand any Japanese.

My list of favourite Pokemon is very long, but I'll narrow it down to the five greatest:-
1. Quagsire. The blobby blue wonder. Able to take any physical hits and pound back. I've had him in my team three times now, in Gold and Emerald. Heh, and I love his sprite on Emerald! 2. Flygon. A Ground/Dragon? He has less weaknesses than Dragonite and looks less ugly than Salamence. Plus, Trapinch and Vibrava are kinda funny. 3. Gastly/Haunter/Gengar. I like all Ghosts except Sableye, but I like these three the most. They have silly special attack stats, and Haunter doesn't even need to evolve to kill. Thunderbolt - Giga Drain - Psychic - Shadow Bolt/Hypnosis = Pure Pwnage 4. Absol. Underrated, moody and a bloody good idea. Probably the most inventive of the RSE Pokemon, Flygon aside. I've never used him on a team, but I like him anyway. 5. Grovyle/Sceptile. Grass types that have decent movepools? Yep, they do exist. I used one on Emerald, but I dropped her (yes, it's female) for a Dragonite. In terms of types, I like Dragons and Ghosts because they get so many resistances, and they're underrated a lot of the time. -------------------- |

could it be one of the pokemon on my top six/all star list Charizard Aerodactyl Gyarados Mew Gengar Farfaeth'D (I just love this little guy, samurai Duck with a reed) -------------------- "Have you ever seen a baby do that before?" |

Just out of interest, why does everyone proclaim Haunter/Gengar's Dream Eater/Hypnosis combo? Dream Eater is a Psychic that only works when the foe is asleep, and Hypnosis has pathetic accuracy.
I use Hypnosis as a filler, not a move to base a set around. -------------------- |
