Eh, well...gotta say Cloud. Cecil comes in second, and I suppose I can throw Zidane and Tida in there too. This post has been edited by Zeromus_X on 7th August 2006 00:30 -------------------- |

Is Locke a lead male though? Edgar, Sabin, Cyan and the rest of the guys are equally as important I'd say.

Strago is actually the male that has the most to do with the main story. And I wouldn't consider Locke a lead. This means Cecil is the best. -CSM

Ramza Beoulve gets my vote. Doing the right thing in every situation, not succumbing to temptations, isn't afraid to make new friends, and giving everything he's got without ever asking (or getting) anything in return. The fact that you are in total control over his in-battle character development makes him that much better.

Squall's quite good. He seems to carry FFVIII on his shoulders, none of the others really do that for their game.
But if I had to vote it would be Cloud without a doubt. Maybe it's just the odd script, but what he says is quality lead material... "Turks! Must be a trap." "I'll tell you, an' for free too!" "I know what you mean. The people don't live here because they have to. It's like this train, it goes wherever the rails take it." Barret "You know what I've been thinking?" Cloud "Save it for later." -------------------- Scepticism, that dry rot of the intellect, had not left one entire idea in his mind. Me on the Starcraft. |

Cecil.
Character development, solid characterization, no annoying quirks, and a generally admirable person. FFIV did a great job with Cecil. And welcome to the forums, Michael Belmont. I hate comparing "Who's better" sometimes, because they're all good for their own reasons.

I'd have to say Zidane because he's such a lively character.

The Warrior/Knight should have been left off and replaced with Ramza. He would have got my vote.
Of those offered, I choose Cecil or Squall. -------------------- Join the Army, see the world, meet interesting people - and kill them. ~Pacifist Badge, 1978 |

Cloud because of his gimungus ass sword and his funky hair, which kinda reminds me of my own ^^ Also, cause he's a total pimp with the chicks.

Quote Yours wasn't misogynist, Silver. Very important distinction LOL Well as I've done with polls recently, I'm going to evaluate each option firion-didn't finish FFII from what I could tell he was a stick in the mud Lunneth-Doesn't exist in the NES, and i don't think DS has been released yet, nothing i can say about him. Cecil-the first real Depressed main protagonist, before they was cloud there was Cecil. cecil feels bad about his misdoings as a black knight, and that gives him a bad self-image he doesn't feel good, he's in need of a percocet. that is until he Possible spoilers: highlight to view .becomes a paladin and resolves some inner issues Butz-horny bastard who apparently only looks into women as far as their looks. Although he doesn't mind setting out to do good as a matter of fact he pretty much is a do-gooder, almost. Locke-One of the more human main characters we've seen. He's good-hearted, never breaks a promise, treasure hunter, and he just has a good head on his shoulders Possible spoilers: highlight to view one of the most human aspects of Locke is that he is plagued by the loss of a loved of, and is afraid of losing people Cloud- A lot of people don't realize it but practically a Cecil II. Possible spoilers: highlight to view bad self-image, depressed about his own inabilaty to accomplish his dreams. Eventually after confronting his issues he does become normal, and realizes he truly is capable, and that he has done great things. Cloud is also very loyal to his friends. Squall-annoying emo kid. Zidane-Horny angsty teen, based off of two previous characters one was listed as a main protagonist in this thread locke Cole and Edge Geraldine. Flirtatious, fun-loving, adventurous thief. One of the more human(personality wise) characters in Final fantasy, One of my favorite characters. tidus-Give him good stats, some funny dialogue, but blow it by making him too whiny, although we can look past that and movie on. Tough one, comes down to Locke and Zidane. and I choose Zidane, they were certain things about Locke that are hard to comprehend. -------------------- "Have you ever seen a baby do that before?" |
