Anyone who knows this already sorry, but I just found this out this time around of playing the game because my usual characters of choice are Travis (Sabin), Blade (Cyan), Locke and between GoGo and Edgar, but this time around I decided to use Umaro and if you put the relic Gauntlet on him, his bat power is somewhere in and around double what it normally is. I think that that is just a cool little tidbit and I think that people should know about this.

That really applies to anyone, it's rather the point of the Gauntlet. The tradeoff is that you can't equip anything on the off-hand, but since Umaro doesn't use shields anyways it's not really an issue with him.

Personally I still find the Blizzard Orb and Rage Ring more useful, but that's just me.

Wasabi Viniagrette: Mix 1/3 C rice vinegar, 2 Tbsp sesame oil, and 2 tsp powdered wasabi. Excellent over cold udon noodles and shiitake mushrooms for a Japanese pasta salad.

I always just put on the Rage Ring because I have other characters more useful for attacking all enemies! I would rather use Umaro as a throwing machine than someone who attacks all!

Is it really necesarry to belittle other people's posts? You could just have easily have said " The Gauntlet doubles the battle power of all characters at the expense of a shield or weapon in the off hand, so, this isn't really a surprise" or something of that nature, rather than flaming/mocking someone else's post.

I am not a mod, but I think that people should refrain from blasting each other, I have done it in the past, when I was new to CoN, but have since become more polite in my comments. I hope you can do the same.

As far as the topic is concerned, I never tried that before, I generally use Locke, Shadow, Celes and Sabin with Mog and Gau as my pinch hitters. Maybe I'll give this a try.

That's pretty much my experience with FFVI in a nutshell. I've probably logged about 30 minutes of playtime total with Umaro, across all 8 or so times I have beaten FFVI. He just doesn't have any outstanding qualities.

Disregarding shtuff and Umaro's all-round usefulness, Gauntlet only boosts Umaro's normal physical attack; his Tackle and Character Toss attacks aren't affected, making Gauntlet a sub-par Relic for Umaro. Hero Ring and Rage Ring is pretty much the best option for him, situational Relics not counted.
