Hey all,
my first post here, and I hope Im not repeating an always asked question.

Im a hardcore FF fan so i have recently purchased DoC. I decided to go through FF7 (for the umpteenth time), watch advent children, then continue on to DoC.

So now to the question. Plain and simple, is it possible to get two of the same Master Materia. Most forums and walkthroughs I read say to talk the Kalm Traveler OR master all of the individual materia.

Not to mention that, but Im goin to make it a point to beat Emerald Weapon right now. Im at Disk 2 and I just got the submarine. I have Cloud (lvl 65/Apocolapse/Rune Armlet/Ribbon/Omnislash) Vincent (lvl 65/Buntline/Rune Armlet/Powerwrist/Chaos) and Red XIII (Plus Barret/Rune Armlet/Ribbon/Cosmo Memory) I did a little bit of lvling up as you can tell cause I needed cash for the Gold Saucer to get GP to BP to Omnislash. You think I can take Emerald Weapon if I go in there with Limits ready to fire, no Underwater Materia and the little HP my characters have?

Thanks in advance for the advice.

Hmmmm,
6 views and no comments.
I really was just curious about the Master Materia. Sorry I blabbed on about Emerald Weapon. Ive read more about Emerald Weapon and ways to beat it. So that has answered that question.

But once again, Ill ask, not cause Im impatient, but simply to clarify myself:

Is it possible to have two of the same master materia? One from the Kalm traveler and one from mastering all the materia?

Thanks again in advance.

You may have to wait a few hours (at least the next time you log in) until someone actually replies to your thread (if at all).

And yes, you can, I believe. Just as long as you actually got the corresponding Huge Materia. I wouldn't see why you can't.

As many master materia as I want?
It makes sense that I can get one from Kalm Traveler and one from Huge Materia. But I thought I had read that the Master Materias have no AP growth. So that would mean that they cannot make a spawn of themselves. Unless youre trying to tell me that if I master all the materia, talk to the Huge Materia, recieve the Master Materia, then master another set of materia.... wow... dedication is one thing, obsession is another... I dont know if I could really dedicate enough time to master each materia twice.
Thanks for the advice guys... appreciate it.

no. My characters had 9999 HP, were all level 90 something, and it took me 30+ comet 2, 3 Omnislash, 3 highwinds, and 3 all creation.

Also, Chaos and Cosmo Memory suck. You will NEVER beat Emerald with Chaos. I suggest you use Cid, and Tifa if you can.

Well, it's certainly possible at those levels, but it'll be tough without the right strategy (if memory serves, I had my people in the 60s when I first beat him as well). For Limits, only use the ones that hit multiple times, like Omnislash, Highwind, Angermax, Doom of the Living, etc. Or...when all else fails, use Kitten Sith's slots! =3

Remember, characters can Mime their own Limit Breaks, so if you have enough Mime Materia...

Chaos does suck, as well as all of Vincent's other Limits. It'd be alot better to make him a healer or something.

Thanks guys.
I've been trying to down Emerald for a while now with no sucess. I made sure Cloud didnt have a counter attack materia. I have 3 mastered. I did that cause I hate how if you happen to counter attack after you mime... then you mime the counter not the limit that I used just seconds before hand. And yes, when it comes to boss fights Vincents limits suck... but I do think they are some of the cooler limits. I never was much a fan of Barret so he DEFINATELY not lvld enough to fight emerald. The main difficulty is staying alive.Emerald is just too quick and two powerful.

Apparently there are a few things Ive never researched either. The three character I listed (Cloud, Vincent, Red XIII) have always been the characters I lvled. The very first time I ever played through the game I lvld Aeris,
Possible spoilers: highlight to view
but then I found out she died
and never have since then. Ive lvled tiffa once also. But Ive never used Barret, Cait Sith, Yuffie (well, only to morph in Gelnika) or Cid. I know this forum probably has this conversation somewhere, but what is your favorite trio to play with most of the game?

Another question. I keep hearing about a Mega-All materia and something else about counter mime. As for the mega-all, where would I find it? the guide Im using this time through mentions its use, but never its location. Would you mind telling me where and when I can get it and what the counter mime setup is?

I appreciate it guys. You have pretty awesome knowlege of FFVII

You can beat it. It's freaking easy. I beated it with the same stats as you.

PREPARATION
W-item. You know the W-item trick? Search CoN for it. Now if you get it to work, duplicate Megaelixirs. 99 will be fine biggrin.gif...
Use 3 Hypers so all chars enter battle with the Fury status.
It's good to have ZERO bahamut and Neo bahamut, and Cid (limit 3/1), Barret(ungarmax) , Cloud(omnislash).
It's also good to have Big Guard.

BATTLE
Whenever a character loses HP, use a MegaElixir...you have unlimited ME with W-item.
You use limit breaks WAY more faster with FURY...
When the lights in his shoulder flash, use Neo/Zero bahamut and Cid's Limit break to quickly destroy them, else he uses Aire Tam Storm and...game over.
Repeating the same thing again and again and using many limit breaks...you will be able to destroy it without KotR. Ruby is harder!
Then go to the Kalm Traveller and get the Master materias, with KotR of course (master summon.)

So you didn't level Barret much...Use at least Cid...(remove Vincent)

I hope this works!!!

Ive read more about Emerald Weapon and ways to beat it. So that has answered that question.

Don't post any more about Emerald weapon in this topic, people. Not only has the OP said he doesn't need the help on that any more, but there are at least a half dozen other threads about it.

It's in the Northern Crater. There's a bit in the blue rock area where you jump twice automatically to get up to a chest. The materia is concealed behind the waterfall bit. You have to press O (or the keyboard equivelant) as you jump past it. Sounds harder than it is. Check other topics for Emerald skills and of course, the Counter-Mime set. Here's a topic I created you might like to investigate. I'm not sure if it's the best but you can find out some interesting things.
