I've never really had to hard of a time in battles in FF7. Largely due to the fact that I go to Wutai right when I get the Tiny bronco and level up.

I did, however, have the worst time getting past the lightning barriers in the North Crater. I found that quite annoying, my first time through the game.

I'd have to say, Emerald Weapon...without Underwater materia, yeah, I was that stupid!

Emerald can be taken down without the materia.... It's just considerably harder!
I asked a friend this question about hardest time, and he said "that giant snake!" I said why he wasn't too hard... To which he replied "I had to level up in the area for three or four days before I was strong enough to kill him!"

The worst time I had in FFVII was definitely on my second playthrough. Instead of restarting and remember how to play, I just continued one of my files. When I switching materia around, I accidentally trashed my good materia somehow, leaving me wondering where everything'd went...after I'd saved. Rookie mistakes can really sneak up on ya when you forget what's what.

You must be a FFVIII player as well. There are no junctions in VII. happy.gif

I'd have to say that I was a cheater. tongue.gif CoN walkthrough.
I didn't really have issues except for Gaea's Cliff, and the Submarine minigame with sonar.

BUT what really has given me trouble is chocobo breeding. Everyone says the gold chocobo, but I struggled just trying to get a Good female (following the CoN walkthrough) for a Blue chocobo. I tried so many times. And they were always male. So I gave up and decided to gamble on Great male (as specified) with Great female (a female supposedly a bit too good). Great chocobos of both gender and much easier to come across than any Good chocobo in my game. Even Wonderfuls was easier to catch. I bred the two Great chocobos and I got a Blue one, at last. Too bad I didn't know that 10 hours earlier (total game time spent trying to catch a female). With that experience I decided that I would only accept a female black chocobo. It was very simple to catch a male Wonderful and to this day I still haven't caught a female Wonderful.

So I suggest accepting only females for newborns if you notice a pattern of only males being caught.

Oh yeah, and I'm still trying to hack at Ultimate Weapon's HP so I can finish him off. Looking and chasing is so much more tiring then just straight up battling.

Demon gate made me lose a lot of time..since i would hit him very little, and everytime he attacked i had to use cure or life on other charcacthers..very annoying.

I'd have to go with Demons gate! He kicked the crap out of me a number of times on my first trip through. Stupid me had only one save and that was in the temple of the ancients. Well we live and learn lol laugh.gif

Really? The Demons Gate wasn't the most annoying part of the Temple of the Ancients. I always had more of an annoying time with the Red Dragon. Then again, even in FFIV, the Demon Gate/Wall/Whatever didn't bug me either, while a lot of people had difficulty with him. I sort of employed the same strategy to kill this version as I did the FFIV one. I just beserked my tank,(well, I release Vincents Limit. Same deal.) healed like it was my job, and used the third character to pick up slack for both the other characters. (Healing when necessary, but trying to get some hits in.)

My worst FFVII time was undoubtedly the time I tried to master a bunch of materia. (and quickly was bored.) I never actually got KOTOR to split, but hey, screw it. Sephiroth died and that's enough for me. (Well, he sort of died. AC ruined the sweetness of my victory.)

You know, a lot of the bosses can be really annoying if you aren't prepared, or have a strategy. Especially on the first one through. I remember fighting the Lost Number for the first time. That guy annoyed me to no end. Eventually, I figured out that if I just blitzed his ass with Magic, he would be weak to physical. I knew that by the end of the fight I'd probably bust a Limit Break or two, and it would be a good idea to have him in Magic Block mode instead of physical. Besides, in Physical mode he's such a god damn beast, I can't withstand his attacks. (Not without some serious Power Leveling.)
