After defeating the Red Dragon in a low level run and before I made it back to the save point, I was caught in a pincer between two Doorbulls. Aerith was my only standing character (at Lv 18). Annihilation quickly followed.

In this time of playing I didn't have any problems. My characters are quite "well-leveled" and even the "hard" bosses (Demon Gate, Jenova-LIFE..) were a piece of cake. BUT this high-level is bad also... I was so confident about everything that I didn't equip any Accessory... And then i met... Malboro.
Yeah, this guy got me in his hand. I couldn't act, cause' I was frogged, minimun, poisoned and asleep. The characters only woke up on "yeloow HP"! At least I din't die.. ![]() Me and my custom of trying to steal ALL THE MONSTERS... ![]() |

My worst experience in this game was probably when I was in the forest near Cosmo Canyon. I was attacked from both sides by 6 frogs - 3 on each side so I couldn't run away - and they kept using Frog Song on me. None of my characters could prevent the Frog or Sleep status so I never had any turns. I think I just reset the game after a while and never entered that area without a White Cape after that.

The worst i can remember right now is trying to find the key to Sector 7, 'GOD'.
Normal Treasure - Nothing in here Good Treasure - Nothing in here Lunar Harp - Nothing in here I repeated this with 5 diggers several times for each one and still couldn't find it, as far as i could see they all pointed to the lower level. But when i went down and looked for it they sent me back up again. After many more tantrums i finally saw they meant the edge of the top level. Idiot. |

My worst time was trying to outrun the Midgar Zolom on foot, killing the Midgar Zolom (barely and also getting the Enemy Skill "Beta"), only to run into another one and getting owned. I didn't heal immediatly because I didn't know they regenerated IMMEDIATLY!.

i found troubles with a few things, the train graveyard was soo annoying. I wanted to destroy the game and my ps. The first time, finding dyne was annoying, but once you know what to do - it gets a lot easier. Another one was in the beginning of the game, after you leave midgar - trying to get across the zolom's lair. I didn't know i had to go get a chocobo - it never said 'go get a chocobo', so there i was leveling up and leveling up so that i could get strong enough to beat it. Eventually, my training led me to the chocobo trainer's house, where i became furious with myself and the game.

My worst time was when I was playing through the game and I got through Disc 2, and when I opened my case, my disc 3 was gone! My friend had borrowed it without asking me! And then when I asked around to find out where it had gone, he confessed and said he had broken it! He had to buy me a whole new copy of the game, and when I finally loaded it, my memory card had erased my file so I had to start all over!!!!

First time I played FF7, I remember getting out of Midgar, after wandering how long it would take to finally see the world map in this game. I musta been.. 12-13, at the time, so, school and all. Save my game at night, go to class, come back.. and my save was corrupted. I was so pissed off, I'd spent like.. over 10 hours in Midgar. After being stuck in the sewers running around for half an hour 'cause I couldn't find the little passage that leads to the other side when you get in the 2nd area of the sewers (my only problems in FF7 have usually come down to that, not finding a little stupid passage in those fake 3D environments to get to another place @_#), after being stuck with the trains in the graveyard for god knows how long.. Well, anyway, needless to say, when I started the game for the 2nd time, Midgar went a lot quicker ![]() Oh yeah, I recently made a new game, and decided to get myself a gold chocobo, something I hadn't done in.. erm.. 8-9 years, I guess. Boosting all the chocobos to S rank definitely made the mating more reliable but... getting a female... wonderful... chocobo in the icy plains... took for-f*cking-ever this time around. I mean.. I couldn't believe it. With Luck plus and Chocobo lure mastered... I had to burn through over 20 chocobos to get a female wonderful chocobo (I had a male black chocobo, so, you see my dilemma). Weak chocobo after weak chocobo, your heart skips when you see you got a wonderful one, woohoo! Put it in your stable.. It's a man, baby! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! ... Okay, I'll stop there. Point is, I got my gold chocobo now, but I don't think I'll be doing that again anytime soon. |

lol, this is a fun topic
![]() I actually messed up a lot but these are the worst ones; 1 - I didn't know you had to change your limit level when you learned a new one. I learned "Meteorain" with Cloud on disc 2 and I was still using "Cross-Slash" ![]() 2 - I didn't realize you had to SCROLL down with Summon magic because this didn't happen with magic materia, I basicly equipped strong materia like Bahamut and Kjata and I just didn't understand why it didn't show up in my summon list. 3 - And yeah, just like everyone else, finding Alexander ![]() |

My most annoying moments in FFVII were:
~One time, I randomly went snowboarding (not in the Gold Saucer, but the place that you had to snowboard on to get to Sephiroth) and I couldn't find my way out! I couldn't go through the caves because I had all ready done that part so I just ran around in circles. I did get out eventually. ~Finding Yuffie in Wutai (the last time only). Nuff said. ~That puzzle in the Shinra building where you have to pick up objects (I honestly can't remember if they were cards or tokens or something) and trade them in for awesome items. I could not figure out how to get the last one and almost drove myself crazy. There were probably others because I always overlook the most obvious things. -------------------- Why, hello guys! So yeah this ones a little sad. I managed to not figure out where the batterys where for your way up to shinra...Honestly I had put the game down for a while and the school bully asked me if I had ever played the game, After saying yes and telling him my ordeal he told me about the batterys and after that we competed to see who could beat the game faster. At lvl 30 I tryed to beat Seph. After a parilous battle lasting close to an hour due to the underleveled and badly equiped party of Cloud Yuffie and Caitsith. I got pwnd withen about 1000 hp to go. Cloud was frogged and I had no items to fix it with. Of course to make the expirence awesome he used nova to pwn me :-(
After realizing how to get all the good stuff i pwnd him after going through the game again but man...i sucked at this game as a kid. -------------------- This is my story... I will never be a memory |

I've seen this response already, but it had to be finding that dickensing KEY TO MIDGAR.
![]() And! Hmm...Seph "pwned" me over and over with that ridiculous attack -the long sequence of blowing up planets- and I never bothered going back to try to beat him again. That's when I stopped FF7. To my memories, that game in itself is composed of nothing but bad graphics and "worst times." See, I can get over stuff like a video game. It's a pretty useful ability, actually. Maybe it's just because I'm not competitive, though. As a female in high school, there's just no shame for me in not beating a video game. On the Shinra boat, right after Junon. I spent at least ten minutes trying to figure out how to get to the front of the freaking boat!
Also, searching online for AP listings for non-magic Materia. Not even the official strategy guide has it; the only thing anyone ever puts on sites is 'X amount to master'. This is the only site I've found that has all the info I want ![]() I've actually made five attempts at Final Fantasy VII. I'm on my fifth now. My first attempt was around 1999-2000, but I was too young to appreciate it. My second attempt was on a Windows 98. For some freakish reason, the first trip around Cosmo Canyon had a bug with one of Bugenhaden's presentations, which left him bobbing up and down, and Cloud mobile; I could run around the whole room, including through my party members. It was really screwed up, and I couldn't figure out how to fix it. Alas, that is the farthest I have gotten through the game. Sad, isn't it? The third attempt was a little while after, on an XP. I did not know about the Chocobo race bug on XP, and so I abandoned it because you are required to race once to get out of the desert below Gold Saucer. I uninstalled the game, and later found a patch for it that fixed the problem. However, for some odd reason, the game would not install on the computer. Go figure. My fourth attempt was at a friend's house, but due to lack of accessibility, I lost interest. My fifth attempt is on my kick-butt computer, with a USB joystick comparable to a PS2 controller, and garbled text from a patch (go figure), but I believe there is another patch for nVidia cards that fixes that. So, I'm wondering if I'll ever make it through the game... -------------------- Happiness is like peeing your pants... Everyone can see it, but only you feel the warmth. May the Monk prevail! |

I have a few. Most recently, Tifa managed to kill seven of the Ghost Ships I was trying to morph. I'd swear that until then, I'd practically never seen her crit, but she decided to dazzle me with her skills at this moment. I should point out that she didn't have the courtesy to do so when fighting the Crane-boss.
On my first run, I was so enthralled by the story that I decided not to visit the Gelnika ( or anything else, but the Gelnika I'd actually spotted while looking for the key of the Ancients ). Actually, I was ridiculously underpowered, even more so because of the three characters that I'd been levelling throughout the game, Aeris was now dead... Sephiroth kept one-shotting me every time he used a physical attack, 'Break' or 'Shadow Flare'. Oh, and I didn't have any status-protecting accessories, so he'd incapacitate all my characters with 'Pale Horse'. On the upside, I did not think 'Supernova' was powerful until I came here. I'd usually laugh at Sephiroth for using a 5-minute cutscene in which he destroys most of the solar system in order to deal around 1500 damage to everyone in my party. When I did finally beat him, I nearly got a heart attack when I realised I had to fight him again. It was cool to see Omnislash though. A final sample of hilarity: when going through the North Crater and asked to split into groups, I though that both would actually have to fight ( I've been burned with this before, in FFVI ) so I divided my competent characters. Here's the order of character strengths I had: Cloud Red XIII [Aeris] Tifa Cid Barret Cait Sith So I split up this way: Cloud with Cid and Caith Sith, and Red XIII and Tifa with Barret. Then I'm asked to split up again. I start regretting not spending time to find those secret characters which I knew existed. I send Cid and Cait Sith together - since neither was capable of surviving alone. Anyway, I was doing fairly well until I met a Pug. I knew what it was - what I didn't know, I realised, was where my 'run' button was... Oh, and I used my Save Crystal at the top of the Crater. |

I have to say Evil Wall in the Temple of the Ancients.
Getting the gold chocobo back when there was no CoN nor Gamefaqs. Firts time through Ancient Forest. Believe it or not, when I first fought Guard Scorpion, that was my first FF boss ever. Boosting the TV rating in Rufus' parade in Upper Junon. Making my way back to Corel Prison after getting lost in the desert. Findig the location of the Temple of the Ancients. I first played this game on a friend's PS1 after she had beaten it, so I got help on annoying things like trains in graveyards, though I had to keep telling her "No, I'm not gonna use Yuffie yet..."
In the beginning of the game my party was Cloud, Aeris, and Tifa almost exclusively. Then Aeris died. Then in disc 2 Cloud went spacey and Tifa stayed with him. That was fun... My worst time was breeding the second parent for the black Chocobo, though. My worst time was when I played it for the first time. I was 9 or 10 and dumb beyond all belief (now I am merely dumb as a doornail). I got the game, installed it, watched the opening clip, and realized I did not know the controls. Yep so I randomly began smashing my keyboard (I had it for the PC). Well, all that did was move me foreward enough so that Cloud got in the battle with the two MPs. Another round of keyboard smashing and I actually managed to kill one of them before I became angry and unplugged my computer. That was not healthy for the computer as I never got that computer to work again. I had to take it apart just to get the disk out (told you I was dumb). I waited for a year or two before I let myself touch anything technological again. After that it was realtivly smooth sailing. Wow.
As for actually playing the game... my worst time was the first time through the train graveyard. I could not figure out how to get out. By the time I did Cloud was on level 21 and had Meteorain and Tifa and Aeris were not far behind. Man I was dumb. -------------------- Oh yeah? Well, can you kill two stones with one bird? I didn't think so. |

I was regretting having Yuffie join my team the first time I went through Wutai. I always have a hard time in the Gold Saucer when I have a bad streak at the games in Wonder to enough GP to enter the Speed and Battle Square, both of which I totally suck at.

Quote (Lenny @ 7th September 2006 19:36) Numerous incidents of playing for 4-5 hours without bothering to save before getting killed by something stupid Yeah i know how that feels. I think the worst time i had on final fantasy seven was most probably... 1)Trying to get trine from materia keeper without dying, being my first time through i had no idea what i had to do about leveling up. 2)The demon gate in the temple of ancients. The stone attack it used got me every time. 3)The worst one in which the quote comes into play. I was leveling up in the northen crater to beat emerald and ruby. Literally i was in there for i think, 7 hours. "Now i darn't use my save crystle" i said to myself, so i looked for the exit. and for the life of me i couldnt get out. Then i ran around looking for it and died! i got so angry, and restarted. Guess what? I found the bloody exit after i restarted!
