And oh yes, DCR, you've seen this topic before, because it's sitting amongst the sticked topics right at the very top of the topics list for this forum. There was an interesting discussion about Gogo's identity, but it never quite got anywhere, although I don't remember exactly why it got locked (although I could check in a moment anyway).

It got locked because it became a spam thread ("LOL I THINK GOGO IS UR MOM ROFL!!!"). I think another one was opening not too soon after and R51 let it remain open until it got out of hand. I suppose I can give this thread the same liberty. Once it becomes a spam-fest, though, I'm closing it.

I personally consider Gogo to be Gogo, just like Cyan is Cyan and not some dead character mentioned in the game once or twice. That's my attempt to make this post not off-topic.

I voted other because I think he's just Gogo. If he were anyone else there'd be a hint or evidence. Any theory other than that I am more willing to guy is that he's the mimic from FFV. But again, that's only speculation with nothing to really verify it to absolute truth.

Im sure GOGO had a name at one time. but we never hear anything of him, at all. what im trying to get at, GOGO is probably a person that was in the WOB that was scared severly. So he hides himself in drapes, and wants revenge for his family dying and the way he looks. To explain the mimic thing. It was just something he was born with. an abiltity to mimic anything he see's fit to mimic. i think thats good enough for me.

The entire point of Gogo's character is that he has no past. He is mysterious. You could try giving him more depth by saying he's the mime from FFV, but that still doesn't really do much. Gogo isn't supposed to be explained, he's supposed to be a funny bonus character.

I believe Gogo is just Gogo. He isn't really part of the story and you can complete the game without him. He would need an identity and better story if he were more involved, but he doesn't even really talk in the game. He just talks to you when you met him in the cave, and you never hear him say anything again! He just a mysterious character to have fun with, not a neccessity!
