I've been wondering about what other people thought for a long time. Sometimes you get into a battle or conversation, the music starts, and the scene just sends a shiver up your spine. A scene that just screams 'epic', over all the other events.
My example and my favorite epic FF moment: The defense of Fabul castle in FF IV. The music gets frantic, Cecil and company with the castle guards, fighting with you as you're being driven back... Sometimes events like these can be even better than the final battle of the game itself. Share your favorite 'epic' moment, I am curious ![]() |

Probably the Floating Continent. The music, and everything.
Going into the final dungeon in FFIII, IV, FFVI, and FFVII. Yeah, there are alot of 'em. ![]() -------------------- |

The Silver Dragon assault in FF9, right before heading to Memoria. I always wish the music continued into the Nova Dragon fight, though.
![]() Guh... and how can I forget the "You're Not Alone" sequence, too. The music in that fight squence while Zidane is alone has got to be one of my favorite pieces in any FF game. This post has been edited by Kurohime on 13th July 2006 04:47 |

In FFVIII, I remember two special moments that I consider "epics" moments:
Possible spoilers: highlight to view When Master NORG tells Squall and the party that Edea and Cid are actually married!, I was really shocked when NORG said this. And when everyone find out that they were childhood friends in Trabia Garden, and the secondary efects of GF.. In FFIX, when Zidane discover his true nature and his meaning of life in Pandemonium. This is really and epic moment in a Final Fantasy, that show a lot of emotions, from confusion to friendship...I like that theme "You're not alone!" from this scene, too. ![]() -------------------- "Its no cheating if you don't get caught" |

I got a lot of 'em
Escape from the Factory in FFVI FFVII Midgar Raid FFX Bevelle Raid FFIV Fabul Battle FFIX Steiner and Beatrix scene FFVI Battle for Terra FFVI go to the Floating Continent Locke's comments when he rejoins in the WoR Cloud's daring escape Raid on the Shinra building Attack on the Giant of Bab-Il Battle on the ships with Zeza Operation Mi'Hen Dollet Landing Escape on the Big Bridge Figaro's transformation when Kefka visits Duels, particularly Cecil vs Kain and Squall vs Seifer, but Tellah vs Edward for humor value. And most importantly, Garland threatening to knock you down. -CSM -------------------- The NEW Final Fantasy Wiki! Join us! |

FFV- Butz looking for playboy in castle surgate library.
Really I would have to say the most epic moment is Possible spoilers: highlight to view During IX after Garland takes Zidane's soul (or so he says) and the whole group comes to bring him back to his senses, showing the support of friendship. (can't really remeber if Garland takes his soul or not, benn a while since I played) Edit Possible spoilers: highlight to view Also when Cait Sith sacrifices himself at the temple of the ancients, that is until Cait Sith II comes along, it wasn't very epic afer that. FFVIII's remembrance scene in Trabia Garden as well as Squall and Rinoa alone in the cockpit of the Ragnarok with "Eyes On Me" playing in the background. I will also add the intro of VIII as well.
In FFIX, when Zidane reunited with his friends after he stumbles through Pandemonium when he discovers the truth of his origins that he had been searching for his entire life. Also when Kuja destroys Terra in his Trance form in the most visually-impressive scene in the PSX era of FF! FFT's awesome intro and ending. -------------------- "Thought I was dead, eh? Not until I fulfill my dream!" Seifer Almasy "The most important part of the story is the ending." Secret Window "Peace is but a shadow of death." Kuja |

I don't really know if it can be labeled as "epic" or not, but certainly in FFVII...
Possible spoilers: highlight to view Right after Sephiroth kills Aerith you get into a battle with JENOVA. Only the music in the background isn't the JENOVA battle theme or even the regular boss theme. Instead it's her theme. It sort of throws you at first, not really the hottest battle music in the world, but it's pretty epic in signifying one of the biggest plot twists in the game. -------------------- Final Flash - Not updated since 2004, but still more music than a giant purple octopus can hold! |
