I dunno whether this has been done or not before
But i was discussing this with a friend and thought it would be interesting to see what people would pick on a Final Fantasy forum Anyway, over to my list: 1: Blue Mage (Recently started playing V again, and have come to love my Blue Mage) 2: Dragoon (Always loved this guy, I fell in love with Freya's jump and then the classic Dragoon armour sealed the deal) 3: Monk (Such raw power, strongest melee class in Final Fantasy) 4: Paladin (I blame Cecil to be honest) 5: Dark Knight (Cecil again, plus Darkside is a damn well awesome move) 6: Ninja (Great speed, powerful attack, and throw is handy) 7: Red Mage (I like the versatility, plus the hat is awesome) 8: Devout (Two words: Kitty hood! ^w^) 9: Summoner (Summon huge beasts? Sure, why not) 10: Mime (Little over powered, but fun) So, what are your faves? |

It's really hard to pick a "top ten", even though there are a lot of classes in FF, and my three faves will always be Dragoons, Ninjas and Summoners, closely followed by Monks and Blue Mages

1. Blue Mage- I've said countless times that this is my favorite FF class! Using your enemies' skills against them is a wonderful thing, they have skills for attack, healing, defense, and everything in-between!
2. Dark Knight- A very cool class. Darkside is a neat ability and some of the coolest characters are dark knights. Though I must admit, Gafgarion is what places this class as my #2. 3. Red Mage- I love the ability to cast white and black magic and casting spells twice. In adition to mages, they also make for pretty decent fighters as well. 4. Monk- One of the absolute coolest classes in the entire series! Power personified, no need for weapons, and low maintence make for one of the best and most useful characters in a game! 5. Trainer- You can't have a masterful Blue Mage without a trainer to manipulate monsters into forking over their party-friendly skills to the resident Blue Mage. 6. Gunner- I can't help myself, but guns are cool weapons. The damage, range, and effectiveness of these weapons make it too good to ignore. 7. Summoner- What is Final Fantasy without a Summoner? Post FF2, these powerhouses bring forth the meat and potatoes of FF magical ability! 8. White Mage- Unquestionably, one of the single most useful party members in the history of RPG history! I, for one, can't get past Final Fantasy without one of the white-robed selfless characters healing my characters' wounds and reviving my dead. 9. Black Mage- I have a hard time to include a WHite Mage and leave out a Black Mage. A duo of the most powerful magic spells in the game the White Mage can throw Curaga and Holy spells, and leave the all-out wanton destruction brought about by the black-faced, blue-robed warriors. 10. Knight- Who could get along in the world of FF without an armored, powerful Knight weilding a sword, sheild, and possibly magic. -------------------- "Thought I was dead, eh? 1. Black Mage - Useful for those pesky physical-immune enemies and enemies with elemental weaknesses.
2. Summoner - Basically an awesome, more useful and powered-up Black Mage. Besides, who doesn't love Shiva, Ifrit, and Bahamut? 3. Ninja - Who can say no to dual wielding? And, Edge was bad-ass in Final Fantasy IV, especially since his class was a mix between the traditional Thief and Ninja class. Nothing like killing an enemy with a small throwing star. 4. White Mage - They're dead useful in almost every part of the game (except in places where magic is restricted). Not to mention they become powerful offensively later with Holy. 5. Knight - Take care of those weak robe-wearing friends with this class! And, yes, the Knightswords are usually the strongest weapons in the game (Excalibur and Ragnarok). 6. Dark Knight - Basically the Knight, but a bad ass version. Dark Knights are wicked in Final Fantasy III (well, except for the ponytails they had) and Cecil's new Darkness ability from the DS version is even more powerful. 7. Blue Mage - Nothing more satisfying than killing enemies with the same exact attacks they just used. They can be really useful in the party with recurring Blue Magic like White Wind, Aqua Breath, and Mighty Guard. 8. Samurai - What's not to love about this class? They use Katanas, they use Gil to attack their enemies, and they look amazing in their red Genji-esque armor. Not to mention the usefulness of Shirahadori/Blade Grasp and the Draw Out abilities from Tactics. 9. Dragoon/Lancer - These spear-wielding warriors are awesome in the games they appear in. They're much to busy to take damage from enemy attacks when they're about to Jump on you. ![]() 10. Red Mage - Black AND White Magic? Why not? And, the ability to use good weapons? It gets even better, especially when the Red Mage gets the ability to Dualcast. Lets see,
1. Thief because, i like to steal peoples weapons, and gil. 2. Lancer, well because of Jump. 3. Red Mage, Versatile and Swords. 4. Blue Mage, because Monster skills are good. 5. Black Mage, pretty much most powerful magic. 6. Summoner for summons obviously. 7. Paladin, because it has basic healing and are strong. 8. Monk because Amarant was a monk and the strongest character in my game. 9. White Mage, really weak, but white magic always saves me. 10. Dark Knight because of Darkside. |

Paladin
Knight Ninja Samauri Monk Dragoon Warrior simple reasoning. i like physical strength over magic. ninjas and dragoons are quick and ranged, whereas knights and samauris are slower but more powerful. warriors are less useful since they are an attempt at equal everything. monks are quick as well, whereas paladins give that little white magic which really helps. -------------------- Currently Playing : Final Fantasy V Most Recently Beat : Elder Scrolls: Skyrim Favorite Game : Final Fantasy X The newest CoNcast is up! 1. Summoner - It's a Super Mage!
2. Ninja - Umm... DUAL WIELD!!!!!!!!!!1111!1eleven. 3. Blue Mage - Effective, if you can survive the stuff that's acutally effective, questioning it's actual effectiveness in the first place. But DarkShok + Lv5 Death = Owned! 4. Red Mage - Dualcast = very yes. 5. Time Mage - Haste, Slow, and Stop. Tasty Fun-ness! 6. Thief - Stealing is good! 7. Mime - Stealing is good! ![]() 8. White Mage - Curing is a good thing. 9. Bare - Imparts a Plethora of natural abilities from being good at everything else. 10. Summoner - On the list again because it's THAT good! -------------------- If internal struggles were as enjoyable and glamorous as the self conflicted wars within video game characters, we would all be statues, reveling in perpetual self war. -Me Play me on Rock Band 2, GH-WT, or any other Xbox GH! 10. Thief - I don't particularly like thieves, but Locke and Zidane are beasts and stealing is usually useful. And they're really fast, natch.
9. Black Mage - a nearly-iconic character design that brings on the offense. Plus, Vivi. I mean, look at the little guy.... 8. Ninja - they're fast, they dual-wield, and Shadow's one. That is all. 7. Knight/Paladin - these guys are always useful as meatshields, physical forces, and occasional healing. And they just about always use the strongest weapons in the game. 6. Dragoon - Kain alone brings this up to the top ten. The fact that they're almost always useful physical tanks that jump all over the place brings them up to number six. 5. White Mage - not terribly cool, but absolutely essential in pretty much every game other than Tactics (in FF Tactics, items > white magic). I mean, surviving without white magic? That's too much effort wasted. 4. Blue Mage - the concept is neat, the spells are almost always great, and they're blue. Except in FF VII, when it was yellow. 3. Samurai - my absolute favorite class in FF Tactics for their Draw Out skill, these guys are also physical powerhouses in FF V and gave us the battle archetype filled by Cyan and Auron. 2. Dark Knight - Cecil is all kinds of cool as a DK, they're useful and fun in FF III, and they're overpowered to hell in Tactics. Now that's a BAMF class. 1. Summoner - Summoners are integral parts of the character, plot, and design of all FF games. Summons are always powerful, useful, and cool-looking spells. What would Final Fantasy be without the summoner? -------------------- |
