Can't get past Vargas!

I killed Whelk's Shell instead of Whelk!" and then when you later play through the game you remember only having done something you thought was impossible and the specifics of whelk's shell haev faded, and then you get to Vargas and realize that it's practically impossible to beat Vargas without doing the games way, so then you think that it must be that you killed vargas because he's theoretically impossible.... memory logs are imperfect, and 2 or 3 years after beating the game, I can only remember whelk because people mentioned his shell and how hard it is to kill, otherwise I would have been like "wtf are you talkin' about?", all it would take is anotehr year or two for me to forget whelk entirely... |

Why? yea dude first time i did it, i had never even heard of the internet. i used the instructions THAT CAME WITH THE GAME! thats it. |

The first time I played through the game I had the hardest time figuring out how to beat Vargas even though the game gives instructions in that battle! Finally I called a friend and he told me how to do it! I hated Sabin for a long time because of that!
