i just started playing ff4 advance and i am at the very begining just after you get beaten by that little girl and end up in the desert i have no idea where to go. I also have the ps version and there is a town in the middle of the desert. in the gba version in dusnt apeer to be there. can neone help me?? am i just not looking hard enough??

The versions are exactly the same map wise. You must not be looking hard enough.

Look for the oasis town of Kaipo. It's located in the middle of the desert, a little closer to the West than to the East. Make sure you talk to everyone in Kaipo before leaving.

Sry guys wasnt looking hard enough i found it now sure is a big desert though.>< Rydia is anoying to keep alive early on from the desert enemys

Stay close to the town and get Rydia to at least level 5 before you travel to the Underground Waterway. The reason I say level 5 is that this is when she learns Thunder/Lit/Bolt, which is very useful in the Underground Waterway.
