Square-Enix has thrown eager fans yet another bone in the form of some spankin' new media concerning the Nintendo DS's remake of Final Fantasy III. Featured within this batch is a handful of screenshots depicting the different modes of transportation accessible across the game's World Map. The real highlight, however, is a new gameplay movie showing off a brief portion of dungeon exploration as well as the characters engaged in battle - a boss battle.

Final Fantasy III DS is now set to release in North America on October 3rd.

Yep, already seen 'em. Aren't they great? I can't wait to see how they convert the 8-bit sprites into 3D Models. They're really squeezing out the quality of the DS, with the sound and all. I can't wait for it.

Wait, son't you do the first cavern with 4 characters?

Anyway, i love the new battle music, the way the enemy jumps in, the way the boss dissolves...everything! I can't wait? Anyone have a basic release date for this game?

You start out with Luneth in the beginning (so I guess I won't be able to save the spell items for the Giant Rat anymore...), and meet up with the rest of the characters as you go along.
Possible spoilers: highlight to view
(Arc is Luneth's friend in Uru, Ingus is a soldier in Sassoon, and Refia is a blacksmith in Kazus.)

They all have personalities and backstories and whatever. It's really cool.

I'm not saying the characters didn't have anything to do in the game but I guess they added more detail for the characters, because all you really know in the NES version i that they are the Elder's sons and they are the ones the Crystals chose. The music, graphics, and gameplay looks just plain OMG awesome. Too bad I dont have a Nintendo DS sad.gif mad.gif pinch.gif .

Quite an intersting change to the game, Meeting them all as you go along, kind of like the more recent ffs. The game still looks great, Oct. 3 is just a couple months away.

EDIT: I can't link directly o that picture, just click next a couple of times to find it.

I think it's awesome that there are going to be FMVs for a DS game. (If that's what those screenshots are suggesting, and the one FMV trailer I saw.)

Although, with all the hype for this, I wonder when FFV/VI Advance will be released.

Edit: I don't think that's Bahamut. I think that's one of the enemies you fight when flying into dangerous mountains with the airship. From what I recall, you actually fight Bahamut on a mountain once you get the Invincible, but not on the airship.

Well as i just found out I'm not allowed to post threads in 'News'
so i'll post this updat on FFIII in here

Mognet is coming to Final Fantasy III, expected to be very similiar to FFIX's mognet with some added feautres. Delivering mail can open up side-quests previously not existing in the game. This is good news for me, FFIIInes was rather short, the addition of sub-quests bodes well.

Gamespot
Also some new screens have been added as well.

Yep, that's how the WiFi will be used, it seems. And Moogles get to do something in the game, other than cleaning Doga's house...
