I'm playing Final Fantasy 3 US (6) on my SuperNintendo (real thing, not emulated, no save states thumbup.gif .) How do I prevent Cid from dying (not that it really matters)? I read something about faster and slower moving fish but I couldn't tell the difference. I want to be sure about this because it seems to take about 45 minutes to get from the last possible save point to where this takes place. Thanks.

Feed him only fast fish - it's easy to tell the difference. If there are no fast fish, then just go back to the house and talk to him. This will trigger a new set of fish in the sea.

Keep on feeding him....it should take less than ten times.

By the way, you dont lose or gain anything if he dies or stays alive.

Unfortunately, he doesn't even do anything even if you do save him. You'll still get Palidor. I just let him die because the story is better with the Celes attempted suicide scene.
